Good news My fiance and I were approved and due to our scores we ended up with a very good interest rate. Thanks to everyone who helped answer our question/s

Thank you for your reply. I am in the process of doing just that. Should hear by Tuesday if we're approved

Hello, Hopefully some can assist. I'm currently in the market for a new vehicle and I've found one I like for $25,500 The only problem is I'm currently on disability and only make 13,500 a year, I also recently bought a house with my fiancee. Even though both of our names are on the mortgage she makes the monthly payment. Currently, I have no debt other than the Mortgage. Is this something I could get approval on or would I need to include my fiancee's income as well. Fico scores are within the 680-720 range Thank you

Good news my wife and I have finally been approved for the tax credit. Heard from the tax advocate office that the IRS will be sending a check around the 7th of January. Hopefully we'll receive it a few days later. It has been a long process, it total it's taken about 7 months. The tax advocate mention that it's now taking a minimum of 6 months for those asking for the credit to be approved. The reason it took so long for us is the IRS thought my wife owned another property in 2007. She of course did not but convincing the IRS that was like pulling teeth. It certainly requires patience Hopefully everyone else waiting will hear word soon.

Well we received a response from the Tax advocate's office and apparently the IRS thinks my wife owned a house back in 2007. She didn't own this property although she was on the note. Her mother owned the house and when she died there was no will so it became part of her estate. So, it's looking like the bank had the house in my wife's name when it should not of been. At any rate it's going to take more time to get this issue corrected before we will receive the credit. What we don't understand is why the IRS never notified us of this issue. Sigh! If it wasn't for bad luck we wouldn't have any at all

I'm still waiting. Closed in June and sent off a 1040X which the IRS received around the 25th. As of 15 October it has been 16 weeks. The last time I spoke to the IRS they told me to call back if I had not heard from them by the 15th. So I call them back today and unfortunately there is still no information as to when I will receive the tax credit. The rep told me it could be another month but they don't know. :smileymad: It's time for me to contact my congressman and tax advocate because as this point it seems like the IRS is giving me the run around.

That's good news Vetswife. I'm still waiting Although I did speak with the IRS who informed me that my file is now in the Exam department. (Whatever that means) The agent said everyone must go through this. He also informed me that he's never heard of anyone receiving their tax credit before 16 weeks. Something tells me he's misinformed, either that or I am At any rate he said there's nothing else that can be done until October 15th when my 16 weeks are up and if I don't hear from them by then to call back.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to this post. It has been a few busy summer for me. Anyways, here's a few pictures of the house and surrounding area we closed on back in June. House

I'm in the same boat as you Vetswife. Under Contract: 4/19/2010 Closed: 6/21/2010 Mailed Amended Return: 6/23/2010 IRS Received: 6/25/2010 10 weeks in from when the IRS received my information and still no information other than it's still being processed. They of course gave me a 12-16 week time frame. I just don't understand how some people are getting their money in less time.

Yes. I'll try and put some up in the next few days

We finally closed on our house today. I still can't believe we were able to get it done in time for the tax credit. Needless to say it's been a pretty stressful couple of months. But thankfully the house is now ours.

There is actually quite a few mortgage lenders that are closing USDA RD loans. I know time is limited if you are looking to close before June 30th but I'd do some research and find one who is closing loans based on conditional commitments.

Wow that awesome! wish I was going to be so lucky I have to pay $1400 at closing due to the seller concessions being less than originally planned. But I hear you on the paint I will have to do some painting too!

Congratulations! It's a great feeling to know that the process is almost over
