  1. You might want to check out this link.... http://realestate.aol.com/blog/2013/12/20/ocwen-foreclosure-settlement-reduces-mortgages/
  2. A few years ago my whole purse was stolen. I immediately called to close all accounts. The thief went to Wal-mart to write a check off my check book. The thief had my checkbook and my ID. The clerk checked the id and even wrote down the dl # and some other info onto the check. They went to all that trouble and did not notice that the person using the DL# was not me- and that they had missspelled my name on the signature. They did this 3 times in about 1 hour in 3 different lanes at the same wal-mart. My point is - don't think that showing your ID to the clerk in any way protects you. They just check the name- they don't match you to the picture or signature. If your wallet or purse is stolen the thief will have your cards and ID. They can spend a lot in a small amount of time and cause you a lot of trouble straightening out the mess.
  3. I love to ask the cashier "Can I pay with my HOOTERS??" just to see the reaction BEFORE I get the card out.
  4. If parents are divorced and NOT remarried they use the income of the spouse who provides the most suppor for the child. If parents are divorced and remarried they use the income of the household that provides the most support- this includes the income of step parents or step live ins.
  5. They are not leaving messages, but the caller ID clearly says NCO and a phone number. Should I answer and record them or I have pics of the caller ID and records from my cell phone company. Thanks for all the advice. Sheryl
  6. I sent a DV letter with the limited Cease and desist to NCO last month. I have my green card. Sent it to PA because that is the address that I received with letter. The calls stopped for two weeks. Now they are calling me from a texas area code. They have called several times and on my cell phone too. What should I do? Do I have to send a DV to each collection office in a different city? Sheryl
  7. Hello to all, I am new here. Have been lurking and learning. I am working to improve credit scores for my husband and myself. I am paying my bills on time and have had no lates on anything for 12 months. I have high utilization because I CLOSED all my credit card accounts two years ago!(STUPID). I have been offered an BOA/MBNA secured card. My plan is to get some cards to get my utilization up. Anyone have experience with this card? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Sheryl
