Got stimulus check in the mail yesterday the irs mailed out on the 16th ... last digits 55

Hang in there Lisa, hopefully you get a nice surprise in the mailbox or bank account within the week, preferably today.
-
It said 15,000 at first, but must have been a typo on their site... that's a big difference but still pretty careless b/c who's going to be honest and send that money back to them . I know I would because I'm a scaredy cat and wouldn't want the government after me, lol.
-
Well, just came across a headline on Yahoo's frontpage... over 15,000 stimulus checks were sent to the wrong people I can't access the link till I get home, but... that can't be good.

One thing to think about with us papercheckers that are due to receive on the 16th (tomorrow)... is the IRS actually putting the checks in the mail tomorrow (receiving Saturday/Monday at the latest), or are they going out today to be received tomorrow (Saturday at the latest). I'm not banking on mine actually being in my mailbox tomorrow, but it would be nice.

Interesting article: http://www.usatoday.com/money/perfi/column...m?se=yahoorefer

Received my second letter from the IRS today detailing info. (how much stimulus, when to expect it, etc.), so hopefully I get some stimulation by the 16th per their site and this letter

From what I hear, RALs are going to be paperchecked. But check the Where's My Stimulus on www.irs.gov site to see when your check will be cut, IF, you're able to get any information from it... lots of people were getting the error message.
-
I hear you on this... my payday will come before the check, so it's all good, but still, wish I was in tomorrow's batch
-
I wonder if anyone is getting theirs sooner than what it says on the Where's My Stimulus website.
-
More than likely, yes. If you get DD then they are picking and choosing who gets paper and who gets DD. The IRS has my DD info. from the first return, as a matter of fact I always used DD since it's inception and with the same banking information, but, I guess since I did an amended return this season, which the difference was sent via papercheck, they went by that instead of the DD info. they have in their system, or not now have since I filed a 1040X .
-
From what I'm hearing if they had their tax return fees deducted from their refund the stimulus will not be via DD but come via papercheck instead. In my case I paid for my fees with my own monies but had to do an amended return through turbotax and I'm being issued a papercheck on the 16th instead of a DD on the 9th. I guess they went by my second return and not the first.

Well, no more error messages... got a date this morning (finally) that I'm getting my deposit, but what's baffling is my last two digits are 55, and if by papercheck (b/c I filed a 1040x, didn't know if by DD or papercheck) it should have been mailed in June, but looks like DD just a week later than scheduled. Your total Stimulus payment was calculated as $XXXX and consists of the following: Basic Amount: $XXXX Qualifying Child Amount: $XXXX (Based on X qualifying children). Your payment of $XXXX is scheduled to be issued on May 16, 2008. If you do not receive your check by June 13, 2008, please contact us again. We are unable to take any action until then.

Credit Acceptance didn't delete my repo'd account until seven years from the date of last activity, not the date I was first delinquent. Maybe times have changed, that was some time ago.

Those are a lot of inquiries Curious to find out how much your score dropped after each one. Also are you counting from the time you purchased the car 7 years from that date, because if so they count 7 years from the date of last activity on the account, not when the account was opened. I would wait till it falls off before purchasing a car or pay off the balance because right now it doesn't look good that there's still a balance owing. You can get financing, but I bet they sock you with a very high interest rate like in the double digits close to 30%. Dispute those inquiries if they are hard pulls. I've done this in the past with success.
