  1. SOURCE Wow, is all I can say. Just wow.
  2. Why would they file a restraining order on you for a debt? I think that was probably his first mess up.
  3. I am writing this on behalf of my mother. In May of 2009 my mom decided to voluntarily return her vehicle because she could not afford the monthly payments (she was paying $18,000 for a car that wasn't worth more than $10,000), so she told the finance company she was going to voluntarily release the vehicle and the could pick it up. Several weeks later they picked the vehicle up -- well, she checked her credit report and they're reporting it as a repossession. There aren't any notes or anything mentioning that it was surrendered. Anyways, she called the credit bureau and they told her that voluntary surrenders aren't supposed to show up on credit reports. I found it curious that they would tell her that it shouldn't show up on her report at all, I am assuming that she either heard wrong or the woman didn't know what she was talking about? But what I do know is that they should not be reporting this as a repossession. How does she have this fixed? Also, should she do anything if it is set to fall off her report in the next 1-3 years?
  4. That would be good to know...
  5. I'm not any more.
  6. Well, I applied with them because I initially thought the manager at the store was of good character, it was just the lemonade ant collector that upset me at the time and I wasn't going to hold him represent how Flexi did did business as a company. Clearly that was foolish.
  7. Cha ching what?
  8. My mother has an account with Flexi, it's a rent-to-own established in Walmarts and Best Buys. Anyways, she got a computer and shortly thereafter she became extremely ill where she was placed on FMLA. It has been a continuous struggle for her with her disability but she always kept in touch with corporate or with the store manager. I was put as a reference to her account and their collector (person who goes to homes to recollect) figured it'd be cool to call me one day and as soon as I answer this is how the conversation went; Me: Hello, Collector: Katrina... Me: Yes. Collector: Do you want to tell me why the hell you didn't return the computer yesterday? I gave you until Thursday to return that equipment and it's Friday! Me: Excuse me, but I don't have an account with you. Furthermore what makes you think it's alright for you to speak to me like this? Collector: Your mom does! Me: Why do you think it's okay for you to discuss her account with me? Collector: Because -- when you and I spoke you told me that she got the computer for you. Me: Um, you and I never had a conversation before this evening. Collector: Well, what happened with returning the equipment? Is Brenda there, can I talk to her? Me: She's driving at the moment. Collector: Ask her, what happened with returning the equipment. Me: (asks Mom) She was sick and couldn't make it up to you yesterday and apologizes. Her daughter is finishing clearing out the computer and will bring it to you or you can pick it up. Collector: I gave her two days to clear off the computer. Me: I'll have Brenda call you when she is available to speak with you about HER account. *click* So, Monday rolls around and she calls corporate to speak with them about the possibility of keeping the computer and possibly working something out. The manager at corporate told her that if she could come up with X amount of money they could work out an agreement but to please come to a decision as soon as possible and get back with him. She explained to him that she had to hire a lawyer to help her with her disability claim because Cigna won't pay out and he is addressing all of her creditors. End of it, right? She'll resolve things. I figure okay well I need a computer for school -- preferably a tablet of some sort so I go and fill out an application for myself. And this is what I receive in return from the store manager (not the mgr. from Corporate) in an email.... I wanted to thank you for submitting an online application with our store, unfortunately, we won't be able to approve it at this time. A member of your family currently has an outstanding account with us and has Flexi equipment which has not been returned. This account is going to be sent to the court house were charges will be filed with the Marshals office and will become a criminal case, so unfortunately until this is resolved, we cannot consider your application. The Freedom Unlimited.... Fine! I get it, you don't want to rent to me because a family member is delinquent with you, great. But to go into detail over the matter. More importantly I could see if she was an actual debtor where she intended to not pay you and she avoided all of your calls.... but sheesh. How should I respond to this. I'm forwarding this to her disability lawyer to see if he has suggestions but I'm hoping that someone can direct me to what I can do? I'd seriously like to file a complaint, can I? This just seems so unethical. The computer is ready to go. My mom has been in and out of doctor's offices and hospitals with tests and I've been working 12 hour days, so I'll personally be returning the POS Friday night or Saturday when I'm off of work.
  9. Yeah, with Ace Elite. It's a Netspend card and you can do it with any Netspend. I just started working at Ace and I have to tell you the card is pretty cool. 10% int. on savings.
  10. Someone from a 866-995-8680 called my Aunt, who was a reference for pay days loans to tell her that he had a court docket # for Texas and I was going to be arrested for 3 counts of fraud. He proceeded to give her my name, full address, place of work (or former work whatever he had on file), and my dob/ss#. She called my mother in a panic today thinking I state troopers were going to arrest me this evening! I've googled this number but can't find anything.
  11. Yeah this wasn't an internet crime. No business took place on-line.
  12. Holy crap. The account that was supposed to be closed and the bank told me was closed, was never closed. Somewhere the bank made an uh oh and the new account has been inactive. So there's that. I checked Denton county court dockets and no information under my name. So I am assuming they took the old voided check digitally made one up on the computer and bam I'm out $125. I just haven't received anything from anyone about this money.
  13. They took $125 from my checking account on the 6th of April. The check was made payable to NCA 1-888-270-1572 in regards to an old account for EZMONEY loans the check was electronically drawn up and deposited at First Premier Bank. My original principal on the EZMONEY loan was $250.00 with a payback of $305.33 -- I took this out in September of 2011 and had to cancel my old checking account because they [EZMONEY] continued to try and pull money from my account. I never gave anyone but my employer my new account information, ever. And here we are months later and I get slammed by some collector for $125.00! I filed a police report immediately after finding this and they're placing it as forgery, I am going to the bank on Monday but I don't know what to do. Any further advice, any one deal with this before? BTW; I'm in Texas and they are in fact, bonded in the state of Texas.
  14. No. And I just received another letter from them with the 30-day notice but this time the amount is for $233.58 By the way, their license/bond expired in 2011.
