  1. I haven't tried a goodwill letter with Verizon. I sent them a validation letter a while back and they didn't respond. It might be worth a shot, I'm not sure who I'd send it to though.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and applied, I should know by the end of the day tomorrow. My DTI is fine. The only thing I'm worried about is a Verizon Wireless collection on my reports from last April. It's paid but it's being reported as 3 consecutive 30 day lates (I was denied a rural development loan because they have a rule that states you can't have 3 consecutive 30 day lates for a year prior to getting the loan).
  3. Is anyone familiar with the NFCU HomeBuyers Choice 100% financing Mortgage? The question I want to know is this an NFCU program or is this a USDA/rural development loan or government backed loan? Thanks
  4. Yes, they couldn't be bothered to even reply back to my first two validation requests. Then thanks to your advice I spelled out the TFC392 & BCC17 for them on the third letter and it worked like a charm. I won't miss seeing those a$$holes on my credit reports.
  5. Update I sent CMI a Texas DV, CC'ed their bonding agent and it worked!!! First I received a certified letter from CMI with statements from Time Warner. A couple days later they sent another letter stating they reviewed my account and that it is now closed and they will delete from the 3 credit bureaus. I checked my Experian and it's now gone Thanks to all who helped, I appreciate it.
  6. cprems, Do you have an address for Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America? When you google them a whole bunch of address choices come up, I want to make sure I send it to the right place. Thanks
  7. It looks like there is a Texas ACA, is this the one that you are referring to? Thanks
  8. I'm located in New Hampshire. Thanks for the info, I will go that route and let you know how it turns out.
  9. I spoke with Time Warner today. They were very prompt in getting back to me. Unfortunately they said that they couldn't remove the CMI entry on my EX report because I was married to my ex-wife at the time even though I didn't authorize her to put the account in my name. Time Warner did agree to recall the debt and let me pay them but they said it would have to go on my report as paid which didn't make sense since they are not reporting now anyway, CMI is. They said they could not delete the CMI tradeline. Which of the following do you recommend that I do? 1. Pay Time Warner, hope they don't report it to the 3 credit bureaus and try to dispute CMI again with EX and show them the paid receipt from Time Warner. 2. File complaints with my local AG and BBB since CMI didn't respond to two separate requests for validation (I have both return receipts). 3. Send some type of threatening letter to CMI. 4. A better option that I'm not thinking of. Thanks
  10. I DV'ed them recently only because they were calling my house everyday. Haven't heard from them since.
  11. TWC and Comcast are no more "basically the same company" than are Verizon and AT&T. While they have partnered on some projects such as TV Everywhere, they are, in fact, competitors. When they jointly purchased Adelphia, each comapany divested some customers to the other in order to consolidate their own regions. Respectively, they are the two largest cable providers in the country and have been involved in carriage disputes with one another. My mistake, they are not the same but they both assign debts to CMI and they both have these executive email addresses setup where escalated issues can be resolved. Here is a link to the one for TWC that may help.... http://consumerist.com/2008/11/reach-time-warner-cable-executive-customer-service-2.html Thanks for the link, I was leaning toward trying to deal with them first and see where I get. Hopefully since my ex-wife opened the account in my name without my knowledge they will feel bad for me and fix my situation.
  12. Hi all, I'm down to one collection agency on my Experian (TU and EQ are also clean)and I need some advice on my best approach to get rid of CMI from EX. My ex-wife had put the Time Warner cable in my name then let it get charged off (without my knowledge)to CMI back in '07. I know from reading past posts here that CMI is a nasty one to deal with. Here's what I've done so far: 1. Sent a DV to CMI a while back, they never responded. 2. Disputed online with EX (before I knew any better)a while back and of course it was verified. 3. Sent a follow up DV to CMI that they also didn't respond to. 4. Disputed with EX again, this time with a hand written letter with a hand written envelope and it was verified again of course. What does everyone think my best option would be at this point? Try to talk Time Warner into recalling the debt or keep trying to deal with CMI? Thanks
  13. It worked!!! I sent that letter to CA. I haven't heard back from them yet but I just checked my TU report and it's gone! Thanks for your help Whychat. My TU and EQ are now collection free.
  14. Aww, don't go that far. The second time around for me is terrific! I am far more diligent this time - both in my credit and in my spousal choice. Of course, it took me 15 years of "dating" him before I said "I do." Now I'm wondering what took me so long. You have a point, I have been dating a wonderful woman for two years now and while neither of us want to get married we may do what you did after 15 years or so
  15. It's sad that so many married people go through this and it's difficult to prosecute after the fact because you were married at the time. My local police chief wanted nothing to do with helping me. I personally won't get married ever again because of this.
