Most of my student loans should be dropping off my credit reports by the end of the year. (DOLA 98) There is the issue of what seems to be an attempted consolidation that will remain though.

My question is this. If all those DOE collections drop off my report...will they come back at the end of rehab as good tradelines when the rehab is done? Will they never come back? I wouldnt mind having 10 or so good tradelines on my report. Has anyone been in this situation????

rhodes, I've never been in that situation. My SL tradelines were reporting negatively while I was in rehab, so they did update to reporting positively.

As a guess, they very well might reappear after rehab, since you'd be back in repayment, assuming that you still owe more on the accounts after rehab. That's purely a guess though - hoping others who've been in this situation can give concrete info.

Yeah if they do drop off, I think the way im gonna play it is....

When the rehab is done, I will wait a few months before consolidating. Im thinking if im paying for them currently or if deferred, they will show up again. If somebody knows for sure, please let me know.

I hope and pray those LA Dept of Justice accounts will come off after rehab tho... *sighs*
