Kind of a weird one here...I had some long ago defaulted SL's, about 4k worth with some accumulated collection costs bringing it to 6k.

Before I got on this board I responded to a CA that offered to take me the rehab route. I went for it and it's been going swimmingly well. The CA is Account Control Technology. They deduct 90 bucks a month via an electronic check on the 15th, a date I selected and I've made 10 straight. I spoke to them yesterday and they said after the 12th payment Sallie Mae and ACT would contact me to set up the rehabbed loan, so in 2 months or so the rehabbed loan kicks off back to Sallie Mae.

However--the defaulted loans are nowhere on my credit report. No blackmarks (but plenty else to worry about).

I'm working on other credit issues, but having this suddenly show up as about 4500 more debt right now might not be so good. On the other hand it will be one more loan that shows ON TIME/AS AGREED. I only have one such account right now, and it's a high credit limit, substantial highest amount owed, but currently low utilization AU credit card from BofA with a spotless record of almost 36 months.

I don't think there is much that can be done, I'm on autopilot, but I wonder what to expect.

Any thoughts out there?

Thanks
