Has anyone had any experience with Student Loan Express and Right Rate? I am stuck at 8.25% after consolidating my student loans 10 years ago. Dept of Education are now offering rates at 3.37%! and I am not eligible because I have already consolidated my loans. ;)

Right Rate says they can pay off my existing consolidated loan and re-finance my balance of $49K for 5.5%. Has anyone worked with this company before? Is there another alternative to try and lower my rate from 8.25%?

I do know someone who took a top brass position with them a little more than a year ago. My friend is a very stand-up/fed regs kinda guy and I am sure he wouldn't have left his previous position without doing his homework. From my understanding, they began expanding their service area at about that time.

Without knowing specifics of what they are offering you, I would say get the paperwork & ask a LOT of questions.
