I posted earlier that on the NSLDS website my loan status has changed from Defaulted: 6 consecutive payments--to In Repayment :D

So Im hoping and praying the DofE will correct my TL's on my reports so I can buy a house.

But I went back to re-check it cuz I cant believe rehab is nearly done and I find that the loan amounts are cut in half

I have 5 loans with DofE and the disbursed amounts originally were:

Disbursed Amount

1. 5000.00

2. 5500.00

3. 6000.00

4. 5000.00

5. 5500.00

Now the outstanding balances are:

1. 2200.00

2. 2500.00

3. 3300.00

4. 1990.00

5. 2100.00

My rehab agreement was 12 payments of $250/mo. So where did the other half of the money go? was all that considered fees and penalties? Cuz the CA did say they would be waiving the penalties after rehab has been completed.

Com'on....negative TL's, lets switch over to positive for me :D

 wow, Merry Christmas from the US Dept of Ed

Seriously tho, the $ amt disbursed is what you received in loans for that year. There may be a "!" sign that shows capitalized interest and fees that were added. Were you making payments at one point and then stopped before you defaulted?

NSLDS changes daily and although the information is deemed accurate, stay tuned.

Not sure if i was making payments or not before default. But Im liking the loan amounts better now :D

Ill keep my eye on this....

Hopefully this means within a week or two the TL's correct themselves.

I have been rehabbed for three months now. The old TL's status has just closed and only experian is reporting the new one. The old one still has all the late pays and derog info still. disputed as never late and only eq deleted a lot of late pays. So it shows up as two tl's one bad and one good. Even though they told me the bad tl would be deleted. It seems like this will never clear up........
