Pioneer Credit Recovery???? WTF??

Hi all, Getty here:

 

Just viewing my (getting cleaner every day :wink: ) EX report and*#^$@!! There is a hard inq from a Pioneer Credit Recovery! Any idea who they are?

I know for sure they are a CA for student loans. Not sure if they collect for anything else.

yea. i dealt with them for an old student loan that i had no idea was mine. it was originally for $1000. this was back in 1986. i paid it a year or so ago. was never on my CR. I paid it to get rid of it. they validated and it had my sig on it. original amount had about $1800(total $2800) added to it. they let me settle for $1300. when i called i was going to pay the whole thing. before i did i asked if i could pay it in payments. the CSR said....well...if you pay $1300 within 5 days then we will settle this. so i did. saved me $1800.

 

they already threatened garnishment. i did not want to go thru that headache.

sushichef - yeah I did my rehab for my old SM loans through them. Actually easy to deal with - they followed the law and everything... lol.

 

OP - do you have any defaulted student loans? I posted my entire story about Pioneer, rehab, etc. in the student loan forum (as have others), so look or post there if you need help.

i was more than ready to pay that one off. i was pretty appreciative that it never reached my credit report since 1988. they were straight up and easy to deal with. no slime like some others. Student loans COs will just haunt you forever i guess. nip that one in the bud.
