I called ATT (the OC) and told them to take the account back from the collection, they said "nothing can be done since the account has been closed with zero balance".They told me to call the CA and notify them that the account has been closed with zero balance. I looked at the CA site and the only debt under my account is their collection fee. They are likely to start collection activity to get their fee. I don't mind paying them - but I want to protect my credit. They didn't hit my report yet - will they? What can I do to protect it? Will disputing be the right step to take - or should I just wait and see what happens? Help!My employer took over my ATT mobile phone account and ATT closed my personal account. They sent me a number of incorrect bills, and finally after 2 months of negotiation for bill corrections I received a dunning letter from CA a few days after paid the bill to ATT. After that I moved and forgot to respond within 30 days. I don't have an envelope - but the debt is technically valid. It is $58 (which I already paid) due to ATT and $10 collection fee to CA. What should I do? Should I still dispute and send them a prove that the debt was already paid? Can they report my debt after I paid it? If they do - how do I clear that later?
