Rehab Question

I have been reading and I have seen yes and no on my question

My wife defaulted on a loan, it was sent to a collection agency and she started a payment plan with them, a year and a half later they send her a letter saying she met the guidelines for rehab while they had our loan and it would be sent back to the original company. This was many months ago and Nelnet started a new file backdating it to 2000 when the loan was taken out showing perfect credit.

My question is, do they remove the old tradeline???? Because it is still showing, closed, sold, or transferred with lates still showing
