Hi, I am going through a bad time dealing with my credit score and credit history. I always pay my bills on time so I never bothered checking my credit score since I didn't think it'd have any issues ( i know that's stupid of me)

Here is my problem thou. I have 2 accounts on my credit history that are showing late more then 90 days and its affecting my score drastically.

1. My gas company created a "secondary" account under my name and I never got any bills. I added services apartment 302, but somehow the company made a 3-302 apartment and i never received any mail for this location at the same time I was being billed for 302 ( the right apartment ) 3-302 was "disconnected" and sent to collections.

2. I had taken a loan with a credit union back in 2005, I got unemployment insurance and when I left work I called the union and let them know I no longer had a job and they said the'd take care of it...something that never happened. they dont keep records of calls or notes on the account for longer then 12 months so they say they couldn't see that I did call but they do see I had insurance.

Now my question is. How can I explain this to my credit bureau and what kind of information should I request from these companies.

thank you so much in advance and sorry if this is not the right area to post.

Current gas company? Best way, if you have an active account with them still, is to deal directly with a manager there at the gas company.

The other account seems like it is protected by your state's Statute of Limitations since it has been so many years since a payment was made to the account. You might look into this letter by one of the veterans on this site, Why Chat:
