I hope that I did the right thing..

I have a Defaulted School Loan that originally was actually supposed to be in a hardship forbearance but some how somewhere along the lines the hardship forbearance either didn't get entered properly or expired (not sure what happened) and I was never notified and it was one of those so much going on it was out of sight out of mind things. Anyway after anticipating a much needed tax refund and it not coming, find out that the board of education took it to go towards the $7,000 I still owe. My account has been in GRC's hands for a little while and last month I received a notice that I could be enrolled in a rehab program paying $50 a month and after 9 timely payments I will be considered out of default, so I went ahead and signed up for it and made my first payment. So far everyone has been helpful and nice that i've talk to but I am still really worried about dealing with a CA. Anyone ever dealt with GRC? should I be really worried? :dntknw:

I've been paying GRC on and off for about 10 months now. I pay them when I can and ignore their calls when I don't have anything to pay. My account gets passed around in an effort to try different collection methods. I stick to my story and always end up with a reasonable response on the other end.

My response: I intend to pay this balance 100%. My financial circumstances make this difficult at this time. I can give you $x on this date. I don't answer the phone if I don't have money to pay.
