I just received a dunning letter from this topics agency collecting on behalf of Sallie Mae. It states the usual "I have (30) thirty days to dispute the validity of this notice" and that whole non-sense. They are stating on there the following:

Original Creditor Account Number: XXXXXXXXXX

Original Creditor Name: Sallie Mae, Inc

Internal FMS Reference Number: XXXXXXXXX

Primary Balance: $15,972.86

Accrued Interest: $3,122.29

Miscellaneous Balance: $252.02

Collection Cost: $4,437.64

Total Debt Balance: $23,784.81

Is there anything I can do about this? Can I send the dispute letter in hopes that they can't validate this account? What about all of the additional costs that they've tacked on, such as the Miscellanous Balance and Collection Cost? Please advise me as to where to go from this point on. I would greatly appreciate any help with this issue.

I've just called the DOE and the EXTREMELY NICE LADY told me that I do have the option to consolidate all of my loans (showing i have 16 seperate loans throughout 6yrs with AES and Sallie Mae combined) with William D. Ford. Since my loans could have been all sold to seperate CA's and they can all come at me at once. I can not afford to pay, if the very worst case scenario should happen, everyone at once, as I'm already paying close to $600/month. Since I am already in rehab with two people, I don't know what to do. She told me that my FICO score would not drop any if I did consolidate, but, as we all know, they would stay on my reports.

I don't know what to do. I'm going to call up USA Funds as she told me that they are now holding my Sallie Mae loans.

Any suggestions would be appreciated of course! :D

Just got off of the phone with USA Funds, who is currently holding my Sallie Mae loans. They told me that the current CA who is holding my defaulted accounts with them is Pioneer (whom I'm currently in rehab with now). I am unsure what my next step is now???
