Defaulted Student loan and Tax Refund

...to find out if I am on the list this year for an offset? I didn't get a refund or stimulus check for last year, but the last time they took a tax refund from me prior to last year was back in 2000.

 

Is there a number to find this out? Just want to know; I worked until June 30 of last year and was laid off the rest of the year. I estimated a refund on about $1,010.

Bummer, offset line said, "Could be offset, please call Dept of ED at 1-800-XXX-xxxx. Oh, well. I guess I will find out after I file. Thing is, I don't care one way or the other.

Just rehabilitated and out of default in nine months on federal. Not flagged for offset. State sponsored school loan, two payments left on rehab, does state of Georgia offset state income tax for other state sponsored school loans?

What type of loan is it, and who exactly is the lender? I live in Georgia and went to college here, and I've never heard of a state loan program. When I had federal loans in default, my state tax refund was never affected.
