Nelnet possibly misreporting?

Hello,

 

I am attempting to clean up the mess on my reports from defaulted loans and I have a question (or two).

 

I have Mich Ed and Nelnet currently reporting the same loans simultaneously.

 

4 loans were originally Eduserv from the early 90s. They defaulted,

and transferred back to Mich Ed. I am now rehabbing through Van Ru which should complete sometime next winter.

 

I have never received anything at all from Nelnet referring to my loans and

I had never heard of them until I pulled my credit report from Equifax. They are currently reporting as 120+ days late with zero balance for the same dates that Mich Guar. lists them as charged off.

 

I know when loans are sold that each company can list for the time they owned them, but can 2 companies hold them at the same time reporting for the same months and shouldnt I have received some communication from a company that is claiming to hold my loans?

 

I am very confused.
