Should I wait for a validation from c/a or just pay?

Ombuds office contacted the school and the servicing company, Wyotech, who has my contract. Letter also stated that Wyotech may work with me to reduce the interest and or late fees. Great. But, my question is, do I still wait for validation from the collection agency, or are student loans different and it doesn't have to be proven? They recommend that I pay all the monies up front ( :roll: ) or set up payment arrangements. Original amount was $640.55, now with late fee's and interest and c/a charges, $2,476.90. Ouch. I didn't default on purpose, my other loans are paid off :cry: Also wondering if $100 a month will be good enough, then go for rehab.

I offered my pitiful $1,000 that i was going to use to fix my leaky roof, but a no go :cry: Seems that the servicing company would rather take the money and not have to pay the collection agency.
