Best Consolidation Service?

I applied for consolidation with ACFS and then the same day, CFS Loans called and told me they were #3 in the Student Loan consolidation business. Where could I find such a 'list' and which one is the best servicer out there?

 

I currently have Direct loan and Sallie Mae loan I'd like to consolidate. Thanks!

I applied for consolidation with ACFS and then the same day, CFS Loans called and told me they were #3 in the Student Loan consolidation business. Where could I find such a 'list' and which one is the best servicer out there? As far as I know, there is no list. While CFS can claim to be #3 in the Student Loan Consolidation industry (and it wouldn't surprise me), that will have nothing to do with their quality of customer service. One of the things I believe to be a negative with them is that you are not able to deal with one specific individual throughout the consolidation process. Another thing, is that ACFS will not consolidate your loans without speaking with you and giving you your exact numbers. That is not true with CFS. The bottom line is that you should go with the company that you feel most comfortable with. Once the consolidation process is over, your loan will be transferred to a servicer and neither CFS or ACFS will be directly involved anymore.

Thank you for the advice. I found out that CFS is the annoying company that sends me and my roommate junk mail to consolidate our loans about once a week. So far ACFS www.onestudentloan.com has been so helpful and patient and I am dealing with just one person.

They were able to lower my rate, and lower my payments by $200 a month!

Actually, if you look at the links in the sticky at the beginning of the forum, you will see that I have them as a suggested consolidation company.
