I tried a GW letter to Citibank to remove lates on a few of my student loans from Dec. 2002-March 2003. They were quick to respond to my letter and it was specific to my case but they reiterated that is was historical information and that this type of information would appear on all three CRAs reports for 7 years. So, I think I am stuck with the history, even though EQ reports have no lates. I would think that these lates do not have as much of an impact as do any more recent lates, of which I have none. Age will probably wash these away. I tried disputing on with EX and TU concurrent with the GW letter, they also came back verified, so I think the lates are stuck like glue.

Any other direction to go? These loans are in deferrment at this time with no lates since March 2003.

The GW letter didn't work with Citibank, so I disputed the accounts on EQ, EX and they stuck, however, TU now updated these TLs to show "was late X/03 for $0" where it originally had the monthly payment amount as the dollar amount. Progress is slow but it is getting there, by the end of 2009 these amounts are set to fall on off.
