sallie mae private loan

I just applied for a sallie mae private mba loan. When I asked how long it takes to get the money if approved, the lady had no idea. She said they send it off to my school for final approval or something like that.

 

What I am trying to figure out is approximately how long it takes for me to get my loan from the school.

 

Has anyone else received a private loan from sallie mae?

Sallie Mae generally gives an online approval for their alternative (private) loans. Your school must certify that you are eligible for the loan (enrolled current term, etc) before the check is sent to your school.

 

It can take 2-3 weeks as Sallie Mae alt loans are generally paper checks and arrive by snail mail. SallieMae can tell you over the phone when you were approved/school certified and when the check was mailed to the school.
