I found out I have an account on my credit report that I am now currently receiving bills from collection agencies. I need to repair my credit, but do not know where to start. I was thinking of sending the collection agency a validation letter, but if I do this and they validate it, where do I go from there. I am unable to pay off the debt even for the settlement amount they are offering me. Do these companies have some kind of hardship program? I would need to make some kind of payment plan, but will not be able to make high payments? I am open to any and all suggestions.
