  1. I currently have a green card and I am considering upgrading to the Gold Premier card. Annual fee aside, what are some thoughts about the card? Anyone have it? Thanks!
  2. I have a Green card and I have a payment due on the 11th of Jan. However when I called to ask about when it was due they said in fact I have until the 23rd of Jan to submit the payment without any consequence. This is what they consider a grace period but I'm wondering how exactly this works. The Due date online isn't actually the due date? I was under the impression if you do not submit payment by the due date online it is considered late. AMEX says different? NOTE: I'm aware that its best to pay by the due date listed online, I'm just somewhat confused how they are allowing me even longer to pay then posted.
  3. Where did you see this offer? Did it come in the mail or what? Thanks for all the help!
  4. I was just approved for a green card, I was wondering how long does it normally take to upgrade to gold or plat? I've heard it can take as little as one billing cycle (so long as you show spending). Thanks!
  5. nope, but maybe since they sent me a pre approval some time ago, nothing will show up til the offer expires. But that would be almost 40 days.
  6. EX is not frozen. Only 1 new account, it was a TU pull not EX. Low util and no baddies.
  7. Some reason I havent been able to use the pre-selector, it says that they are unable to offer me anything at this time due to either: can't locate credit history, applied for pre-selection within the past 30 days, or our system is down. I havent used the pre selector in a long time, and i doubt the system has been down for the past 1.5 months. Any thoughts?
  8. just apply, you'll never know unless you do
  9. yea i dont get it
  10. not at all correct. "preapproved" is hardly used these days because of concerns by regulators that banks we misleading consumers. prequalified generally means your consumer report has been prescreened. in fact the more precise term is "pre-screened" but most marketing departments at card issuers assume consumers would not understand that language so they use prequalified. prequalified is DIFFERENT from an ITA (invitation to apply). an ITA is not an offer where you credit report has been "pre-screened" there is an easy way to tell if a report was considered in sending you the offer (i.e., it is not an ITA): if there is "opt out" information in the offer's disclosures then your credit report has been considered in the decision to send you the offer. IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE APPROVED. and almost 100% of the time a HARD will be pulled to decision your application. if there is not opt out info then it is merely an ITA. I get ITA's all the time for the CITI American Airlines card. A common source for address/names for ITAs are freq. flyer mailing lists. Have you been getting many pre-screened or ITA offers lately? Even Cap 1 dried up for me, the only offers I've received in a very long time are from Discover and I won't deal with them. Its strange because I had a pre-screened offer from AMEX DELTA GOLD but when I applied for the regular green I was denied. I thought the Green Card was one of the easiest ones to get. And no, nothing significant changed in my report from the time I got the offer, to the time I applied. :\
  11. It contained OPT OUT language so is it a ITA or Pre-approval?
  12. what does the opt out language usually entail?
  13. fingers crossed for you and good luck!!! Let us know. I was just approved today. However I leave for FL next Monday, they said it may be possible they can over night the card to me some time Friday. =P
