  1. Anyone else??? Come on guys help a brother out.
  2. I just checked my Experian report and an old BOA credit card charge off is now listed in my "accounts in good standing" section!?!? Status:Closed. $9,118 written off. In the account history at the bottom it show's it being late then a charge off etc. I still have two full hard copy Experian reports from 2009 and they both show it was listed in the negative section and both state "This account is scheduled to continue on record until April 2012." Well it's almost June and it's still there and now in good standing section. I looked at the Experian report(s) from tonight and 2009 and both state my last payment made was June 2005 so maybe then it will be removed in July and the original "April 2012" removal date was a mistake? Also, the BOA listing in Equifax and Transunion is completely gone now so Experian is the only one screwing around with it. What do you guys suggest I do? Wait til' maybe July to see if it's removed and then dispute if not or dispute it now and send them copies of the 2009 report with it stating it would be removed on 04/12? Now, I'm wondering if this is a way banks are trying to keep it on longer (possibly 10 years) since it's listed in "good standing?" Please help me out guys, another few months and I'm completely done with 7 years of credit torture and the remaining two baddies (charge offs) are completely gone and this is bothering me to no end. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks again. -Mike
  3. So after about 17 days after not hearing or getting anything in the mail, I received a phone call from a 1800 # but I couldn't pick it up as I was busy. They left a voicemail and it was Merrick Bank (Hooters) and they told me to call back ref my application. I called back and spoke to Julio and he asked me my mothers maiden name and asked about my new address and I told him I just moved. Then he was like if you standby for a few minutes I can tell you your status of the application. So I waited around a minute or so and then he came back on and said I have a set of security questions for you to answer if you have time. I told him of course so I answered those and then he said ok standby again. So this time I waited around 2 mins and I was nervous as heck thinking he would tell me I got declined. So he came back and said ok your application was approved and you should receive your card in 7-10 business days. I was so excited I forgot to ask him how much the credit line was for! Oh well, I'm just happy I got approved!! Another step to rebuilding my credit back up. The only other card I have right now is Orchard Bank with a limit of 300.00 so this should definitely help. So good luck to all that's applied and haven't heard anything as it's probably a good thing. FYI, I don't know which bureau they pulled but the last time I checked my equifax was 612 and I think my transunion was around 603 as of a month and change ago.
  4. I applied for the Hooters card on 04/03/10 and got the 7-10 message along with the email stating the same thing. I've been checking the mail everyday and haven't gotten anything and today is 04/16/10, been 13 days. So do you guys think the longer it's been the better chances of getting approved??? I haven't called the 1800 # cause I kind of don't want to be told bad news and I think the longer it takes the better off I am. Tell me what you guys think
  5. Hey guys, I'm about to send out disputes to all 3 credit bureaus and I've found alot of different addresses for Experian. Does anyone have a correct address to send them a certified dispute letter?? Please Help Thanks.
  6. Yeah, I mean't CRA's. Thanks
  7. Is the best way to dispute with the CA's by mail or online and why? Is there any real difference?? I've read many different things for both. Any help is appreciated.
  8. Come on....I know you guys are out there.. Please help..thanks
  9. I live in South Fl. Hey guys well I'm being sued and the pre-trial is next tuesday. I do have a lawyer but the thing is in the statement of claim by MLH GROUP, LLC it says 1.This is a claim on an open account for damages which are less than $5000, exclusive of interest and costs. 5. The credit card account was an open end credit plan between defendant and the credit card issuer. So with that being said they are treating this as an open account subject to the 4 year statue of limiations in FL correct??? I just want to make sure because my lawyer thinks its a written account and I told him it says OPEN in the statement of claim and blah blah. Here's my problem though. I signed up for the Citi card in Novemember of 2003, activated it in Dec of 2003 cause I remember coming home from college for xmas break and it being there. I graduated college in May of 2004 and I'm almost 100 percent positive by then the credit card was already maxed out and defaulted on. But, I have no old credit card statements. MLH Group filed the law suit in Nov of 2008 and my lawer stated they said that I made an online click 2pay payment of $108.00 dollars in MAY of 2005. Now thats impossible because at that time I didn't even have a bank account and my dad was cashing my pay checks for me and I've never even done a money order. I didn't own any other credit cards either. Because if its May 2005 was the last activity then I would be screwed cause they would be within the statute of limitations. But like I said there is no way I made a payment then. Why would I just make one payment and then stop again on a 4000 dollar bill. How can I prove this though???? Or do they have to prove with documentation. Guys and girls, please share your thoughts, ideas or anything that could help!! Oh, one last thing they offered a settlement of $4000 and I pay 100 a month. If they are offering a settlement does that usually reflect that they have a weak case???????? Lastly, this hasn't appeared on any of credit reports in years so even if I do end up paying them it sucks cause it does nothing for me. THANKS
