Hello everyone. I live in TN and sales tax here is over 9%. Is it possible to buy a new car out of state to save on sales tax ? How does the financing stuff work ? I was thinking about Delaware as there is no tax over there or maybe some other state close by with lower tax rates like georgia, virginia or kentucky. Maybe I can go there over a weekend and drive the car home. Please don't laugh too much, just thinking to save some money :-)

How long to wait before applying for a second Citicard ?

Yes HoldenMcGroin, CitiForward is on my list of long term cards. For now I am thinking abt travel so Elite Premier Pass seems like a good one for now. Does anyone know abt a travel card offering rewards like the Citi Elite i.e. 1 point for every mile flown when u purchase tickets using this card ? Thanks. -
I applied for a Citi AA card back in Oct 09. Approved after sending them my pay stubs. Card in good standing with no late and always PIF. I have some travelling coming up in Summer. I was thinking to sign up for the Citi Premier pass elite to save more on the flights. Will it be ok to apply for a second card from Citi in March, abt 4 months after the first one ??? Any other card with travel rewards as good as Citi Premier Elite which gives points like the following ? "Your points can add up fast. If you were to buy 2 $350 tickets (one for yourself and one for a friend) on a 6,000 mile round-trip flight, you'd earn 12,700 points.2 Also, you can earn miles in the frequent flyer programs you are enrolled in." Thanks everyone and enjoy the weekend. bye

Hey everyone, I had been to Chase branch yesterday and the CSR told me that I was pre-approved for $8000 CL chase sapphire card. He even showed it to me on his screen. Today I applied online and it said we will process your request and inform you in 8-10 days. Is there a department/number I can call and ask them to speed up the process since I was pre-approved. Thanks guys.

Hey hinklesc, do u think i can get my citi AA converted to Citi Forward after I have received AA miles ? If yes which department should I call and also will that conversion make me eligible for the 6000 points for new Citi Forward signup and 5000 points for paperless statement signup (currently I have paperless statements on Citi AA) ? -

Thanks for the responses guys. Just wondering when did you apply for this new application ogsuer and which card was it for. Thanks. -
I signed for Citi AA in October, 2K limit and my first Citi credit card. I am thinking to sign up for Citi Forward now since I would be cancelling Citi AA before Oct 2010 and need some card with no Annual fee to add age to my acount, is it a good time to apply for another citibank card after 3 months or should I wait longer ? Have a score of 750, no baddies, few credit cards with 4-5 years old history. How many cards do people usually apply for in one application spree (of course from different lenders) ? Thanks everyone.

Hello everyone, I applied for a citi AA mastercard last week. 2-3 days later they emailed me saying that they could not verify my details and needed some more documents. I sent them the required stuff and have been waiting Its been 3 days since they received everything and still no word from them . Anyone else who had similar condition, can u tell how long do they take to process the docs. Score is 700-710. Is there any number where I should call to speed up the processing ? If anyone knows about any special department which processes everything easily, please give the number. Thanks guys and have a wonderful day.

Thanks for your detailed advice Radi8. Really appreciate your help :-) Just curious that if he gets only a secured card and stays as an AU on 2 cards, will that enhance his credit file enough to get him an unsecured credit card in 6 months ? Is it necessary to use the AU card or just being an AU is good enough to create credit history ?? Any idea abt partially secured credit cards by BOA or Citi ?? Thankyou very much.

My younger brother recently got his social. He has started a job a few weeks back and is making abt 1400 a month. He is NOT a student and has no student loans. He is an AU on our parents discover and amex. We pulled his credit report on creditkarma and it said thin file so could not report a score. What is best way to build his credit. 1. Secured BOA credit card of $300, I was wondering if getting a secure card really helps credit score or it just shows desperation. Also with a $300 card it is hard to keep utilization ratio below 30% ..... 2. Apply for an AMEX since he is AU for a few years now. I checked the online offers but there was no offer for him on AMEX or BOA 3. Get him as a joint user on one of my discover card ? Will they pull his credit score if I apply to add him as a joint user on my card and have a good payment history, always PIF. Can they deny the request of adding him ? 4. He received an American Airlines Miles card offer with pre-approval. For some reason all of my family members frequently receive AA miles offers and we never avail them though he is a miles program member. Is it a good idea to apply for AA miles program with a thin file ? 5 Should he enter his income or household income (including my parents income since he lives with them) ? 6 Wait for 6 months and let him continue as an AU and then apply for credit cards ?
