  1. Any advice here? Is there an existing FAQ that already covers this?
  2. I had a family member Amex card through my father's account. A few months ago I had him call Amex and cancel my card. I wanted to insulate my credit report from his account because the large balance he had was coming through on my credit report and throwing off my numbers. Since then one bureau has deleted the account from my credit report but TransUnion still shows the account as open and with that high balance. What's the best course of action for me here? Would it be better to call Amex and tell them to send TransUnion the closed status? Or am I better off writing TransUnion directly and asking them to take it off? Speed is a factor here for me but I mostly want to do this the right way. The only complicating factor is that a few months after I canceled my card Amex closed my father's account for negative payment issues, so I'm a little concerned that if Amex sends updated info to a credit bureau that it would include negative info (even though the bad stuff happened after I had him close my card). Thanks.
