Hooters card application is finally back up and working!
lkn2cwhthpns replied to GonnaGetEm's topic in Credit Forum
I applied for the card back on April 3rd. The response I got was I would receive a letter within 7-10 days so i figured it was a decline. I waited about a week and called the 800 number and I was told it was still pending. I called in a couple of more times in the past week and was told the same thing. I finally had some time to call into the 801 number and spoke to a rep. She told me the application was still pending and I then asked if they needed any additional information . She stated they did not but would let me know if they did. About 15 minutes passed and the rep from Merrick called me back to do some lexis questions. She then told me I was approved and should receive my card within 7-10 days. She did not know my credit limit as it had not been assigned yet. Here's hoping for a decent limit! I have to agree the 800 number reps are not the best at Customer Service but the lady at the 801 number was extremely nice and professional. Myfico Tu Score was 649 when I applied. 2 cards showing over 2 years perfect history. 2 have like 18 months and one has 6 months. Two of the cards are closed a credit one bank and a cashyesmastercard which was a ripoff but I got most of the fees refunded when they closed down all the accounts. -
Thanks Marv!

I have tried a few times to figure out how to add my approvals in the database. I think I might be blind as well

HSBC-Request/Cancel Over Credit Limit coverage
lkn2cwhthpns replied to lkn2cwhthpns's topic in Credit Forum
Thanks NewEngland. That was my first thought but the way they have worded it made it appear that this was some great benefit that I should sign up for. I noticed the same thing on an Orchard Bank CC but haven't noticed on any other accounts as of yet. -
I just logged into a Rewards Zone Mastercard account to check to make sure a payment was applied and noticed under the customer Service Section it has Request/Cancel over credit Limit Coverage. Anyone know what this is? Are there any pros to requesting it? I wouldn't think it would be beneficial to the FICO Score to go over the Credit Limit? I know this has something to do with the CARD Law but it really seems odd that it appears to give you a limit you can go over your credit line.

I just called the Magic Number! I got an increase from $900 up to $1700. My last increase was in June from $300 to $900. I told them I had been closing down other accounts that had been RJ me. The last card I closed was CreditOne Bank after they increased the interest rate to 30% with no grace period. This board is great! I had a 480 fico score when I started my repair back in early 2008. My FICO has taken a hit lately due to buying a car in June and higher than usual balances due to my Partner buying a house"All thanks to this board BTW" and furnishing it. The last alert I got from Myfico was 575 ouch! Oh well this should help along with paying down some other balances!

I called the regular number today on my Orchard Bank Card and requested a credit line increase. I was turned down and said they regularly look at accounts to see if they qualify. I then called this "magic" number and spoke to someone and told her I had been making payments much higher than the minimum and she stated she was sorry and she valued my business and could see that I did have a great payment history. I let her know that I liked the credit card but at this point it didn't seem to be growing with me so I would have to look at some other options and possibly close the card. She was very sympathetic and said she did not want to lose the business and asked me to hold on..... She came back on the line and said that my credit line was raised $600!!! At first I thought she meant they had doubled it from $300 but as she was hanging up she told me the credit line of $900 should show immediately... I about fell out when she said $900.. This number is great... The past few months I have been paying anywhere from $100- $150 on the account and regularly use the account and try not to charge anything before the last day of the month. This company seems to get a bad wrap.. It does have a $8.00 a month annual fee but it also has the free bill pay which some companies like to charge $7-$10 for.

VLV Vantage Point Solutions - Collection Company

I wish our phones could record the conversations. This was one reason I wanted him to send an email to see what kind of wording he would use in the email. I thought about possible calling The TN department that handles the licensing and violations to see if they would possibly do a three way call with me since they seem to be trying to collect the amount without a license as well. I have not sent a DV before are there any suggestions to use for the specific type of debt? I'll search around and try to find one that I can use. I have wanted to call them out over the phone for the violations but have held my tongue since I do not have anything in writing from them. Thanks for all of the advice so far! If anyone else has any suggestions I am all ears. Thanks -
Hi Everyone, *New Poster so hopefully I do this right and I apologize in advance for the long details. I had a collection company call me at work regarding a payday loan I had defaulted on back in o6 or possibly 07. The first time they called a lady called and asked to speak to me. She stated she was a skip tracer and needed to "verify" that I had made an on-line application because of fraud and identity theft. She said someone had been using a social with my last four digits online and that she needed to make sure that I was the person on-line making applications. I didn't verify anything with her and told her that none of the information sounded right. She then went on to say that someone had committed check fraud and that if I knew who it was using that social I needed to tell them. I ended the phone call with nothing you have stated sounds familiar sorry so I can't help you. About a week later a guy calls back and states my name and since Im at work I have no way of knowing who this is calling so I say yes? He then states that he is calling regarding check fraud and he needs to know how we can take care of this. I just tell him that I cannot talk at this time and I'll have to call back at a later time. Today I get a call with the same thing.. Im calling about check fraud, you were supposed to call me back.. I know I should not be dealing on the phone so I tell him that he can email or mail me with any information. This really irritates him and he said well what do you want emailed. I told him to email me with any information that he has regarding what he is wanting to talk to me about. He then gets irritated and said well this is on your chex systems report, did you know that? I said I did not have any idea what was on my chex report. He asked if I had a bank account and I just told him no as I thought he was fishing for information. He said well that is why you don't know you are on Chex. He then asked if I made a habit of getting payday loans and not paying them back and I told him that is not something that I do but he needs to email me with what he wants to discuss. He gets irritated and said what do you want emailed an invitation with my sons birthday party? I said well you seem like a smart person I think you can figure out that I want you to email me with any information you have regarding this matter. He said well I am forwarding this out since it is check fraud and you refuse to take care of your obligations and then he hung up. **note he did ask me how much I could pay today and how far away I was from having the 900 dollars.. The loan would have been a 300 dollar loan I think? What should be my next step regarding this? I looked up on the Tennessee website to see if they are licensed and it appears that the license expired back in 2007. It seems like they have violated some sort of laws by calling and not representing themselves as a debt collector and referring to the loan as check fraud? If I recall when I researched that type of debt the loan should have to apply by Tennessee laws. If that is the case the loan did not meet those, as it just continued to roll over at whatever the interest was for the two week time period. I know a little bit but not enough to feel comfortable yet to handle this as I think this falls into the 6 year SOL. I appreciate any suggestions or advice you have.
