  1. So i am reading the boards... researching on how to execute a flawless 1-2 punch and decide to get working on the letters that im gonna send out on friday 17th which is the 30 days mark since i sent out a DV letter to all the CA's on my CR. Before i start writing letters i decide to pull out my latest copies of Credit Reports (from all 3 agencies) that i received after I wrote to the CRA's asking them to correct my names and addresses. I begin to review them and look for the collections that were there ~40-45 days ago when i pulled my 3-in-1 from Equifax.com... I simply cannot find them, they are just not there anymore. I have looked through them at least 3 times and i just dont see them. Except one which is for an ambulance ride back in 01'. However, this CA hasnt responded after 30 days of receipt of my DV letter so i guess i get to try out the 1-2 punch after all. I am soo happy and i am tempted to pull another 3-in-1 report from the equifax site to see what's up or even get it from the myfico.com site. What do you guys think, am i overlooking something? I just cant believe this worked so easily! there's gotta be a catch22 here.
  2. So that is the definitive answer to the 1-2 punch explanation. thanks.
  3. They may be the suckiest but its ironic that i read your post and then look at the image on your signature and Experian has the highest score out of all the 3 agencies lol!
  4. thanks angela
  5. its because i wasnt planning on 1-2 punching them. i wanted to DV and then pay them off like a good guy... i was wrong. i shoulda done 1-2 right away.
  6. It has been 20 days since i sent out DV letters to all the collection agencies on my CR's and I havent heard from any of them except for 1 of them... And here's the kicker.. the one that did contact me back to fight the debt is one of the lowest quantity collections at a mere $91 dollars... And even worse, they cant even prove that the debt is mine (so far) So yeah... what do you guys think.. when should i do the 1-2 step? Should i send out dispute letters to the CRA's tomorrow? or should i wait till the 30 days have passed, send DV letters to the CR's and then send the dispute letters to the CRA's. What do you guys suggest
  7. hahahahahaha that was funny... then considering i only have 1 extra address then i should consider myself lucky......
  8. I sent them a Letter with proof of my new residence, a photocopy of my DL and they just responded with a copy of my CR and also a statement that says that the information is there because it was reported by a credit grantor or public records. so what do i do now? my correspondence was sent using CMRRR and it was based off a letter from WhyChat's letter database. They also have an incorrect name for me (middle initial is different) and they dont want to take it off either.
  9. I'm a little lost here. sooo what are you saying?
  10. You need to answer this question^^^^. Also who initiated contact you or the CA? Let's do a recap. Is this in SOL or out? How did they confirm the debt? After reading some of the responses my guess is that this was not a confirmation of the debt but merely they sent me a document that i signed.... It doesnt really say why i owe the moneys. Did they show you that they are authorized to collect it? Is the collection amount the amount you actually owed the CA? Also who initiated contact you or the CA? I initiated the contact. Remember, this debt is from 2002. It has been chilling in my CR for 4 years.
  11. You need to answer this question^^^^. Also who initiated contact you or the CA? There are 4 questions there. Which one are you talking about.
  12. Okay im gonna ask them to give me proof that i indeed owe this money and also ask them to prove that they have the legal right to collect this debt. thanks guys ill keep you all updated.
  13. thanks weirdo. do you think it is smart to just go into the insurance agency and ask them to validate the debt for me? (theyre like 1 mile away) and then have them sign a PFD letter.
  14. Nice. so what do you think i should do, resend the PFD? Or ask them to prove to me they have the Legal right to collect this debt.
