  1. Any input about banks that do not report AU to CRA?
  2. I need reloadable prepaid card due to credit problems. I have to book hotels online, pay bills online etc. As I understand there is no prepaid cc – only prepaid debit cards.
  3. What are some of the best prepaid debit cards? Can they be used in the same way as credit cards – for hotel bookings, rent-a-car etc? And online purchases? Do they print name on card? What personal info they need for opening account? What are options for reloading money to card? I would like to use this card for traveling abroad through Europe. What are standard foreign currency fees?
  4. Depending on what our goal is. I would like the banks not to report AU account to CRA's because they would report a new address associated with account owner.
  5. What banks are not reporting authorized users account to CRA’s? Is it mandatory for authorized user to give SSN and DOB info? I have some charge offs etc on CRA, making it difficult to obtain new CC. Would cousin’s credit have any downside if he adds me as AU on one of his accounts? Will debt collectors try to contact cousin after adding me as AU on his account? We would like some account that doesn’t report AU to CRA, or that SSN and DOB are not needed for opening AU.
  6. I thought that banks only provide account info to ChexSystems at the time of account opening, not for address change?
  7. I am aware of post office procedure but I am not interested in reporting change of address through bank to CRA. Just curious are banks reporting address to CRA for checking account? You have updated cell number to bank for your checking account or credit card account? I want to know is it banks regular procedure to report clients address for checking account to CRA or not?
  8. Do banks provide client address of regular checking account to CRA? Or change of address?
  9. Could anybody advise on best credit monitoring services? Which one would you recommend from your experience? I see that Identity Guard, LifeLock and Identity Force are rated as the most comprehensive ones. myFico has decent ratings as well. Which one would you go with? Many thanks in advance.
  10. I have received a letter from a collection agency stating I owe money for a debt that is not mine. I have disputed the debt with all 3 bureaus and received confirmation that it has been removed from my credit report. The credit bureaus said that my account got merged with somebody else’s. Today the collection agency called and wanted to verify my date of birth and last 4 digits of my social. Foolishly, before I knew who I was speaking with, I confirmed my information and the rep began to tell me that I owe that money. I told him that it is not mine and that it has been investigated by the credit agencies and removed from my file. I then hung up as the rep was very demanding that I pay. Does this mean that they are going to try now to reattach this debt to my social and can they place this back on my account after I initially had it removed by the credit bureaus? Again, this is neither my account nor my debt and I don’t know what I can do at this point. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Discover Terms How are my payments applied after I transfer a balance? We apply payments and credits at our discretion, including in a matter most favorable for us. Each billing period, we apply amounts you pat that exceed the minimum payment due to balance with higher APR before balances with lower APR. The calculation of your Minimum Payment may increase by $40 if you have a Balance Transfer balance.
  12. Anyone with experience with Discover balance transfers? It looks that Discover increases its minimum payment due by $40 if one use the balance transfer feature.
  13. It can only be used to pay off other credit cards from what I understand I just spoke with Discover CS and i have been told that I can use this BT offer check to write check to myself and deposit to my checking account and it will not be considered as cash advance. I hope that they are telling truth.
  14. Hope someone will share their experience with Discover BT
  15. So you just wrote your name, amount and signed BT check (front and back) provided by creditor and made deposit to checking account?
