My nephew has traveled from IN to TN, he's settled in the dorm and is now being told that he can't attend classes until he pay's $5k. We're in desperate need of information. He currently has a Pell grant 3K, subsidized & unsubsidized loan(s). He doesn't qualify for sallie mae w/out co-signer. What are we to do (no extra money)? Please someone help. Our credit cards are maxed....

im in the transport biz also. in my opinion its better to have a virtual office and do business in another state if dealing with transportation. theres so many legal problems, process servers looking for u when drivers screw up and a ton of other potential issues in this industry. jus my opinion. theres also huge tax breaks for truckers (depending on the state where ur incorporated).

I received a personal card in the mail with a $2000 limit. I can't recall applying, anywho - i heard they were giving illegal immigrants personal cards without them having a valid social security number. Maybe we will slip through the cracks on the business side. just a thought....

This has happened to me with Staples. My credit line is $750 and I over paid back in November. They issued a credit back to my account and reported as a late pay "in dispute". Call and check on your credit line to verify if you have over paid on your account.

I applied on Friday and the app was declined today. Amex pulled experian not equifax and my score is 598. Everything on my file is paid in full and there are a few collections PIF. I'm not for sure why they declined me. I should receive a letter in the mail within a few days.

Choco Did you ask why the decline.......Was it because of credit age? If it was credit age I'm in the same boat. Do you think my biz will qualify for business private label? My stats are good, i agree with you regarding credit age. I believe the PG will not be required this time next year with good payment history. I'm in no hurry, i have nothing but patience and time on my hands.

I applied on Tuesday of this week. Unfortunately, my app for discover declined. Sams up'ed my limit to 3k on the business private label. I did not PG. My stats are 80 Paydex, 16 tradelines and 60 Exp score. The highest TL reporting is $5000.

Congrats on the AA approval! I actually did the exact thing on another company and i was approved also. I actually have two Non-PG cards and one PG card with Citi. I can't understand Citi's approval process however they do have a way of verifying your identity. Good Luck!!!

I apologize for responding so late. Yes, I got the info from my local store. The Amex gift cards are usually stocked after Thanksgiving and comes in an increment of $25, $50 & $100. They can be used anywhere Amex is accepted.

Ok, I don't know if I want to use my $750 toward a few gift cards this year however here's the gift card info on Staples. Staples is currently carrying the restaurant, shoe & clothing retailer cards, movie theater and music gift cards. Amex gift cards will be in sometime next month.

I'm not a big fan of OD so I figured this card could be useful for something.

I called this morning after reading Deb's post and requested a CL increase. Nikki answered the phone and after making several attempts to pull my old app, she decided to review my current DNB file. She increased my limit to $2500. At any rate, I called OD and inquired about the holiday gift cards. The manager stated that OD carries them year round. They currently have the following gift cards: Macaroni Grill AMC Theaters Blockbuster Chili's Foot Locker Bath & Body Works, etc. She doesn't carry the American Express Gift cards at this time. I will check with Staples to find out the status on those....
