  1. I have noticed that I have a couple of card accounts that are not reporting to any of the bureaus and they should be at this point. Bryant State Bank (Show CC), Reflex Card (Celtic Bank), and my Fingerhut account are some. How do I get them to report?
  2. It is definitely higher than I would have liked...but considering the only auto loan on my history was from less than a year ago with a current balance of $15K, and then another auto loan/personal loan that was just opened in March for $13K, and considering I have 1 baddie, 30% utilization, etc...I was happy to just get in the truck with nothing down - felt like a champ I set up weekly payments through SmartPaymentPlan to payoff more principal (even though it's a relatively small difference) and then I plan on refinancing in Oct/Nov when my final baddie falls off...my goal is 60 months at 1.99% versus 72 months @ 6.99%. I also may have some cash to pay off a portion of the balance by that time, so it SHOULD all work out
  3. Thank you!!!
  4. Hey Marv - sorry for the late response. I really wanted THAT particular truck...American Eagle FCU finally gave me a loan and I've been sorry ever since - the truck's a lemon. I've since buckled and bought a 2013 Xterra (brand new) for $30k. I had the original Chase loan ($15k) on my report AND the NEW American Eagle FCU loan on my report ($13k) and was still approved through Nissan Motor Credit Corp for the truck with $0 down. The APR is sky high at 6.99% but I'll see if I can get it refinanced when the Chase & AEFCU loans show as paid off. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything you do for us on CB...it's BECAUSE of CB and posters like you that I've been able to come as far as I have.

I've been adding a credit card (or 2) every month since trying to build...and now trying to get a loan for this truck, I've maxed out inquiries. I've tried EVERYWHERE and can't seem to catch a break. It's an 05' so no one will touch it with conventional financing...I would REALLY like $11,000 @ 36 months ~ I pay Tax, Title, Reg, etc cash. I got approved w/ DCU but can't become a member due to a ChexSystem item. I've tried personal loans with TD Bank but they won't touch me below 700. Pentago FCU said that they won't touch me until I hit 700 and/or get the University of Phoenix OFF my report. Help!! Can I go buy something new and then refinance in 6 months to a year? I can't really afford more than $450 and anything new that I'm looking at is $30K. Can't lease cause I do about 2-3K miles a month. I sincerely appreciate ANY advice you can offer.
  6. I think this may be for Staples (Personal Account). Out of the inquiries that have popped up and the places I've applied, I did not see a specific Staples inquiry, and "MWF Workplace" was the only unidentifiable pull...
  7. I will Thank you for your help!!!
  8. You rock!! Here's a cute "Doh!" moment... The letter they sent was definitely a settlement letter, but nonetheless, it got me a little nervous that this might "creep" back up - thus the long questions. After reading your response, I felt a little better and started researching CT case law re SOL, etc. Anywho...I let the letter lay on my desk for a couple weeks Until I received a phone call from them yesterday... I asked the operator whether or not Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC were licensed to collect debt in CT (which they are not) - mainly because I wanted, for ONCE in my life, to have a "1 up" on them...he was dumbfounded and put me on hold...the manager came back on and said that "they are licensed in 50 states, and all of that information should be on the back of the letter we mailed you." I then thanked her for her time and told her I would gladly call back once I was able to verify that information pfft! (She was NOT nice, very demanding, etc...for once I was calm, cool, and collected). Got home, turned the notice over (it was one of those that looks like a check, so you're 99% more likely to open it)...pulled off the top sheet from the back, and there I see... "Because of the age of your debt, we will not sue you for it and we will not report it to any credit reporting agency." LMAO!!! I would have never saw that (as I'm sure 99% of the population doesn't)...
