I had signed a 6 month lease on an apt in nov 2006, I ended up moving out 3 weeks later as the job I moved into the city for didnt work out, I left the apt in perfect condition and even had paid the next months rent. Theres a collections agency trying to collect 1500 for breach of contract. the SOL In Fla has passed, What is my next step to have them stop from collecting? I was on this forum a few years back and thought I saw somewhere where I can sue them if they dont stop trying to collect, Also heard that the collections agency themselves need to have a contract signed with me saying I owe them money in order to legally collect money from me.
