Just saw these responses. It just reported to my husband's credit, and we STILL haven't gotten a letter from them. I am irate that we told them that we have nothing from them, but yet they put something on my husband's credit. So I'm trying to determine the best strategy to fight these guys.

Okay now I will tell you that ERC is the actual internal collection department for the US Department of ED. They are the worst kind of PITA's you will ever meet. What you can do, it won't help your overall score, but if you are almost done with the rehabs on the other ones, do a consolidation and start YESTERDAY. It will take about 6 weeks for everything to get done and for them to be paid off, but it's really the best thing you can do. After the consolidation is done, you can submit your tax information and you can setup an income based repayment plan. All of your loans will be in one place and since you won't be in default you will have more options available to you. While in default they CAN take your tax return. Good luck and hope this helps!

Starting Credit Repair, need some help for a 2014 plan HELP PLEASE!
Mrsbucknut replied to Mrsbucknut's topic in Credit Forum
It has been brought up many times. If you have the funds which it sounds like you do. Then start with the secured bank cards. From a local credit union or one of the others cap 1, BOA, US Bank. Got to start some place no shame no game Yes I think we are going to join Logix, and then I will begrudgingly pay the Navy Debt to get them back. (You should see the pout and disgust on my face lol) -

Thanks. I have no doubt that you can tackle all of this. I'm sure it sounds worse than it is and it sounds like your experience can get you there. I do like it when good details are given. I just think I'm in quick answers and reads tonight, but I still read through everything. Thank you, your words of encouragement meant so much to me in just that moment. It's been a struggle, but I believe I see the light appearing in the tunnel lol Have a Happy new Year! -

Mrsbucknut replied to Mrsbucknut's topic in Credit Forum
Thanks so much guys! Yeah, I'm not a brand newbie I've done this before, but it was a little different before because of the ID theft. The B* question was more so that I could just use the right ones from the start and get the B* as an added bonus while repairing. I appreciate those of you that took the time to read my novel (sorry!) I just wanted to give complete information. I'm going to take the suggestions into consideration and go ahead and start this journey today. I appreciate your help! The only thing I think I didn't get, and this is the HARDEST part for me. When is the best time to apply for new credit because I know half of the process of repair is adding new and good credit. I NEVER apply for anything. I hate the rejection lol Should I do this after the first round of disputes? Funkiehouse your progress is inspiring! Great job -
Okay, so back in college, I got my identity stolen. I tried to recover from that, and I did, I got my report completely clear, and had 3 new cards. Well, my business got blindsided and tanked, and I got hit with a $76k judgment so I filed for bk in April 2011. The Bk was discharged in Aug 2011. In July 2011, I got a lease for a Mercedes E Class for a car that was $60k. My income was really strong and stable, so I could easily afford the payment with the discharge. The majority of the debt that I discharged was not reporting to my credit, it was mainly investment partners and/or leases for property. The banks that were IIB were Navy Federal (My dad hit my rental car and the rental car company charged my bank account $2,400 instead of allowing my insurance to pay for it, and Navy won't do anything about it, I've allowed my anger to get the best of me and haven't paid it), WFNB (do they even exist anymore?), Capital One, GE Bank (best buy/Walmart). The problem I have always had is that I don't really apply for credit because I have always gotten declined since I was 18 years old. I went to the largest college in the nation, and while I had a full time job (I loved saving) and my friends had no jobs, they were given credit cards hand over fist and I had to beg for the $100 limit I had with Express. So I've never really applied. Since I filed for BK the only credit I opened was my car lease and things have gotten a little worse. So although I filed bk on everything, my IRS issues couldn't be added in. In December 2012 my bank accounts were all frozen with a substantial amount of savings in them and are just about to be given back to me Jan 2014. I had to turn in my car lease, and I have been using a family car because I really didn't need one as I work for myself from home. We had my husband to terminate his position because our business was doing well, then we hit a slow spurt. Things are now turning back around and income has been stable. Now that I have all that out. Here's where we are: I don't have any open credit lines. When I turned in my car lease early (I had a 33 month lease with 25 perfect payments, but had to turn it in early ) Mercedes removed my tradeline and doesn't report at all, so I have gotten declined for every car loan I have applied for without putting down 40%. I have one paid off car loan that was before my BK (I traded it in for my Mercedes), and banks are saying it looks as if I haven't attempted to re-establish after BK. Here's how my file breaks down: EXP: Fako: 548 Public Records: 1 (BK Chapter 7) Negatives: 3 Collections (1 Medical, 1 Phantom, A collection that's reporting as current closed?) Positives: Listed as 22, including 15 current and open SL's. Inquiries: 2 (from auto pulls in 8/2013) Personal Info: All old addresses and old name (Maiden name) Summary: I have a medical collection that I feel is invalid. I switched to my husbands insurance when we got married, and my service date was 3 days after we got married so the system hadn't updated yet, but insurance company keeps not paying, I'm at wits end with it. I have a collection that mysteriously appeared, it has no OC listed, it's for $650.00, and it doesn't have any remarks, just reported in September. The last is a state of MD collection for school tuition after an online school switched me to out of state after I received my refund. It was IIB, but is reporting as "current closed", disputed before, but keeps coming back as verified from 2010. ugh. EQ: Fako: 525 Public Records: 1 (BK Chapter 7) Negatives: 8 (3 Collections, 5 others) Positives: 19, Includes SL's and paid auto loans Inquiries: 35!!!!! (18 from auto apps August 2013, 11 older than a year 1 Mercedes account review?) Personal info: All old addresses and old name (Maiden Name) Summary: I have the medical collection from above, the phantom collection from above, and then 1 other that's from an apartment that I never lived at that EQ is stating they "verified" but is ID theft and they have my police report & affidavit, but say it's "too old." The 5 other negatives are 1 student loan that was an error by the school that was supposed to be removed, and never was, they keep "reverifying" it and won't let me dispute it anymore. It's also reporting as open with a $0.00 balance from 2008 (kill me now). The other baddies are my 2 IIB credit cards (Cap 1 and Walmart), and 3 SL's that were consolidated and are paid but still showing the late payments from 3 years ago. I have a HUGE amount of Inquiries from when I was trying to get a car this summer, my EXP was frozen, and I approved their pulls manually. TU: FAKO: 548 Public Records: 1 (BK Chapter 7) Negatives: 2 (1 Collection, 1 Other) Positives: 26 Inquiries: 15 (All auto apps from 8/2013) Personal Info: All old addresses and old name (Maiden Name) Summary: The negative reporting is my Walmart card that is listed as an open account, but has a $0.00 balance with the comments of IIB. The collection is the State of MD collection from earlier. I don't know why these aren't considered in my negatives folder, but I was an AU on my mother's cc that she put in her BK, it's listed as potentially negative closed. My paid SL's that were consolidated are listed as "Debt being paid through insurance" which is not true, and they won't budge on them. There are 3 of them listed this way. For my husband, he has never had an open credit card. He had a line of credit from an auto customs shop that went delinquent, and he has an open car loan. Here is a breakdown of his files: EX: Fako: 572 Public Records: 0 Negatives: 9 (Collections; 3 Medical, 2 outside of SOL's, 3 Phantom Accounts, 1 Paid Collection) Positives: 5 Inquiries: 4 Personal Info: All old addresses Summary: My husband has 3 medical collections, all present year, 1 likely valid, 2 others insurance issues. 2 of his SL's are reporting as sold to another office, but reporting $0.00 listed as "open" accounts. Open positives are student loans and 1 current auto loans with 5 lates. EQ: Fako: 563 Public Records: 0 Negatives: 11 (6 Collections; 3 Medical, 3 others) Positives: 4 Inquiries: 6 Personal info: All old addresses Summary: Same medical collections as above. 2 phantom collections. 1 paid collection. The negatives are the student loans, and his charge account with the automobile customs shop showing $2,800 past due, but still showing as open. The SOL is up 4/2014. TU: FAKO: 572 Public Records: 0 Negatives: 15 (13 collections; 3 Medical, 4 outside of SOL, 7 Phantoms, 1 Reaged phantom account, 1 Paid) Positives: 4 Inquiries: 4 Personal Info: All old addresses Summary: The same medical collections. There are 4 collection accounts outside of the SOL, 1 of them is a duplicate and they attempted to re-age the account by changing the date by adding a year. There are 4 student loan accounts that are reporting as sold/transferred and they are duplicates of each other. So there should only be 2 of them. 3 of them are reporting as open but they should be closed. 7 of the collection accounts don't list OC's so I consider them phantom accounts. Here's where I need help: I have done my disputes in the past with great luck, but I don't know where to start with ours. - Should I dispute the addresses first? I have already opted out for both of us. - Should I then file disputes with the phantom collection agencies or just go for a blanket dispute with the CRA's first and take out the "low hanging fruit?" then make a custom plan for the others? - Can I do the Whychat process while doing the other disputes or wait until it's done? - What are you guys using to B* that still works? I use USAA for us now. We can only pull once a month. - We have applied for Capital One, but I have an extended fraud alert, so it's harder for me to apply for new credit. - How are my auto pulls perceived? As one or as 18?!?! I appreciate all your help, I'm preparing my disputes tonight, so wish me luck, I'll keep you guys updated in here! Thankkkkksssss!!

Hey everyone! Merry Belated Christmas! Okay, so I'm back at the journey, after a little IRS tax setback. Got a call today from a collection agency for a final bill my husband and I never got. The account was on autopay when we had their service, but they stop autopay for the final bill. Well needless to say, they didn't have our correct address (apparently ever) and we never got the bill. We got a call today from a collection agency and the supervisor was super rude, and kept yelling in my ear that it was going to report to his credit tomorrow. I was trying to ask for the address so that I could mail them a dispute because I think we actually paid the final bill, and she kept yelling in my face and hung up on me. The hilarious thing of it all was that I was in an excellent mood and wasn't even hostile towards her and was speaking softly. She wouldn't give me the address and I told her we never got anything from them and I would need them to verify the debt. She stated they mailed it back in July, and ran off the incorrect address. I gave her the correct address and asked for proof and stated that I would send in a DV to their address (along with a C&D, which I didn't bother telling her). What are the rules here? I am starting credit repair for us, sending out my requests to remove all addresses today and some disputes, do they still have to send me a DUNS letter as this is their first contact with us? What happens if it hits our credit report? What's my best course of action? Thanks for all your help!

You're exactly right! I never thought about that. Thank you!

Hey Guys! I've been trying to call Barclay's recon number 866.408.4064 and it's continually saying that they are closed even though they state that they are open from 8A-5P EST. Has anyone had this problem? Just thought I would see. Thanks in Advance!

Updated Business Credit info from an old D&B rep
Mrsbucknut replied to Mrsbucknut's topic in Business Credit
My EXACT point has now been proven. It has nothing to do with whether or not the information was valid, but everything to do with the fact that I have affiliate links. YES, I did tell Breeze that my guide had affiliate links, however, it's good information and can help someone. It is your preference on how you provide information, but because our guide is given away on our business success webinar, we provide affiliate links to cover our costs like the free workshops and help we offer to business owners. I would never come and try and sell you guys anything, and I have been helped by all of you, and that was the point I was trying to make here is that if your issue is because of the links, just say that, but please don't deter others from being helped. They can use whatever companies they decide to use or can do it themselves, but I almost wish that Breeze and the other mods would offer ebooks to us as newbies when we sign up, cause I would not have just loved it, I would have been happy to pay for it cause the info I get here is invaluable! Actually so that we are clear, my concerns center around the information and the claims in the website and PDF file, and not so much about advertising and affiliate links. Here are the concerns: - You mention "banks" about 10 times in the guide, but the truth is that having a website is not that important for banks when they do their approvals for small businesses. -There is a prevalent sales pitch that emphasizes "loans and grants", but the truth is most grants are not available for profit businesses. It just seems as too much of a hard sell that is not corroborated by anything other than claims. - You underscore the importance of a website that ranks well and has organic traffic, but your 26 day old domain does not pass the "walk the walk" test. - A lot of what is listed on your 13/14/15 items/resources {you have different numbers listed in different places} seem to be of very little value. Press releases? really? YouTube Channel? Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn ? In a large majority of times, a small business owner would have a better return on his time and money by doing some advertising and promotions in its neighborhood. - You claim in the video that statistically "only 3 out of 100" businesses that follow this method get declined. Have you had 100 businesses follow your advice in the last 26 days? Have you had 10? You have failed to provide a link to a single one, and assuming that they all followed your advice then they all have a web presence so getting a few links should be easy. - I also think that there is quite a bit of terminology misuse. Not really sure if when you refer to bank, you mean a "bank" or vendors that provide vendor financing. Unsecured is not the same as a loan without a personal guarantee. A line of credit with a guarantee can still be unsecured. For the average reader of creditboards business forum that is looking to get vendor credit without a guarantee, following the advice of some of the other threads here would be the best avenue. For the small business owner that is looking to graduate to bank financing, personal credit and global cash flow are more important by far than a website. I'll ask you ONCE AGAIN, that if you are in fact a Lender as you state, please advise of your bank and underwriting criteria. Please don't provide false information to members of Creditboards here and state that Grants are rarely available for profit companies, because this is indeed FALSE. I have asked you if you have so much to say about my packet and what DOESN'T work, please, tell exactly what YOUR "bank" that you work for DOES know that works. I'll be happy to pay you $100 bucks if you can show me ONE thing on my site that I'm selling? Please send me a screenshot of my shopping cart, and I'll pay you for your time You are continuously looking for something negative to say, and to call it what it is, you don't like the fact that I have found a way to assist others that costs them NOTHING, yet, is valuable marketing for me. You have switched from being a lender, to having a website for a "business", to talking about PPC, then to SEO, all without making a complete point. What's the point in going over each of these "bullet points", when those of us who actually will want to use and benefit from my guide are able to contact the banks and verify everything with them? I now realize that it's more of a you're upset because I came up with this and you didn't, and if I walked on water for you right now, you would swear it was because I couldn't swim, so there's really no point in arguing with you. You have nothing constructive that you are offering, just negative comments on something that even Brndnh721 has stated multiple times is information that is offered on CB, just organized in one package. If you are having issues monetizing your talents, send me a PM, and I'll be happy to help you get some leads to your business. That seems to be what the issue really is lol Hey it happens. I see your affiliate site listed in your signature on here that you're promoting WITH adsense on it, isn't doing that well. In fact, it's blacklisted after the Panda update. How about you just ask someone to help you get your traffic count up (It's NOT 11k or even close to it) so that you can make some sales from your adsense and linked A stores? I'm actually a nice person that's willing to help ALL on this board, rather than you try to slander me. Oh, and wow, you looked at whois. I'm happy to tell you I have over 100 sites as I am a full time IM'er. That's nothing new. I'm happy to run my credentials and anything you need by you, just send me a PM. I may be able to help you. I have nothing to hide. -

I'm not offended in the slightest. The information in the guide is FREE. If you use it, and it doesn't help you, then the worst thing you did was give your business some exposure and gained a client or two. There's a bandwagon effect happening here. If someone had come and commented that it helped them, the whole tone of this thread would be different. Breeze warned me of this, and I've been a member here for years, and I've seen it happen SO MANY TIMES. lol My guide is used as a means of lead generation for the bankers. All of these steps are essential for someone who is serious about setting up a company and is important for business credit. If I started another thread like the one that was stickied at the top listing each step, and each company, there would be no issues. Pretend it's that and just humor me and try to see if it works. If you would like, please feel free to drive to your nearest Barnes and Noble and buy a book on building business credit, or purchase one on Amazon. It's always a YMMV situation. This is my guide of what I did, what helped me, and what worked for my colleagues and I. As far as what you are stating about the PPC, you start off by talking about PPC and then start speaking about SEO terms? Please let me know of which you are referring. On Page SEO is essential to organically ranking, however, you spoke initially of PPC of which you would have to bid on keywords and can be very pricey for a new company who probably has no idea on how to even get it started. You just reconfirmed the exact point that I made in my guide. I would also invite you to PM your site so that I could see your ranking for 700 keywords, that's astounding to me. However, this has nothing to do with the packet, I don't do SEO services, and actually don't use it for my personal business as my clients are sourced offline. CB is just one means to an end for me helping business owners, I do a weekly webinar helping these guys every week, and I've never had one person upset with me that I gave out FREE information, and I will continue on my path to help. The point is... All of this is negative and unnecessary, if you're a lender as you say you are, please list your bank and your exact underwriting criteria and I'll pass that along to my clients on my next webinar, maybe it will drum you up some additional business, and it would surely help us all here on the WF to get an inside look. If not, just delete the guide and move on to the next thread as this is completely frivolous and it clearly doesn't apply to you. -

From this point forward, I will let this thread maintain itself. I have disclosed at the top that it's just a resource, and you are welcome to do it your own way. I hope it helps someone, and if anyone has any questions with regards to anything with their business or credit issues on anything, I've been through the worst (BK, ID Theft, and Student Loan Nightmare) and have tons of experience (I used to be a lender as well), I am always willing to answer questions or give my feedback. You stand to lose nothing with my guide. Cheers! -

Can you expand on your strategic partnership with Citibank? I am sorry, but I just do not see any serious lender giving this information to prospective borrowers whose application has been denied. What I am having trouble understanding is why your information makes it seem as if establishing a web presence is so important. I also have issues with some of your assertions in the information you provide. For example your dismissal of PPC advertising when it is probably the only way that a small business can compete with well established competitors seemed wrong to me. You know what would go a long way towards establishing your credibility, provide some actual testimonials of businesses that you have helped obtain funding, the amount of funding, and the source. People would click on the business and do their own due diligence. I don't think that asking for additional information is being disrespectful at all. If your information was not full of affiliate links, it would be taken at face value. But because it is, additional vetting would go a long way. By the way: I am not against people making money through advertising or affiliate links. I would be a hypocrite if I did. With Citibank, as my personal company which is a media buying and planning agency has had a long standing relationship, this is actually information that is referred to potential clients within their branches. I have a weekly meeting with several bankers in my predominant client areas (Washington, DC and Las Vegas) and we meet weekly to discuss their opportunities. I have to respectfully advise you that your statement on PPC is incorrect and is not the most productive and/or strongest way for a presence to be achieved. Most keywords across multiple engines are overbid by competitors and most businesses don't have budgets to even reach the first 2 pages. What has worked is ranking videos for your company that can be created very easily with free software. So this actually is the best method. What I do for companies is to show them how to get their businesses established, and we actually have a D&B affiliate rep that thinks it's awesome what we do for businesses, as they know the creepy sales tactics that are run on businesses. Because there are so many people who are advising (Even on this board) that people should get virtual offices, and this in fact is causing a lot of turn downs, if people were to legitimize their businesses, even simple Net 10 accounts appreciate knowing that a company is legitimate and is planning on actually operating as a real company. I would love for you to tell me a program that your bank or any bank for that matter offers for a brand new business that has no business credit, no D&B profile, no Yellow pages listing, and nothing online that can be verified that gives them no personal guarantee? Even D&B goes out and searches the net to verify a company these days. So, yes these items are essential. As far as testimonials go, we have several from when we were actually assisting the clients and doing it FOR them, but most people don't have the funds as a brand new company to afford the services of someone to set everything up for them, however, as you can see, which is another reason why this is ludicrous for me to have substantiate my offering this guide, we ask for no information for someone to receive our guide. Lastly, as I stated in my PM to Brndnh721, we promote this package in several arenas, radio, print, and online and our links cover our cost, and thus, you are welcome to go to the site of the services on your own and sign up. There is also a complete disclosure on the site of our relationships. It seems that the biggest issue that those here have are when others have found a way to monetize their information, but yet we all give the same information here time and time again for the exact same services. I have no problems with disclosing any of my relationships, as it's no different than what we all sign up for everyday, we join mailing lists to get coupons, or we give our email address to get something free. It's simple marketing, however, it doesn't make the information less valid, as just like someone previously stated, its EXACTLY what we talk about here on the board, but in one guide. I've been a member here for years, and I'm always happy to help ANYONE that reaches out to me and will give them any FREE advice that they'd like about how to get customers, setup marketing campaigns, monetize their info, whatever, just like they do in the car loans thread. I'm happy to help in any capacity. The main issue here seems not to be what's inside of my guide, but the fact that I have affiliate links, which is completely disclosed and isn't a secret!
