  1. I checked my report right on Experians website. The date on the report was 3/1/18. Everything that was said to have been deleted on the dispute results was in fact deleted except for 2 items. The results showed them as deleted yet the report still showed them.
  2. I had disputed online.
  3. I had disputed several items on my Experian account recently at the end of January. I received a letter via email and by regular mail from Experian on 2/19/18 with a list of the results and that these items were deleted. I checked my report yesterday and there were 2 items that were still showing on my report that were supposedly deleted as per the letter I received. What's my next step? Call them? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
  4. Some lates and a charge off.
  5. I've been cleaning up my reports from some old negatives over the past few months. I have Equifax and Transunion in tip stop shape by deleting addresses and disputing the negative accounts as "not mine." However, I have been struggling with Experian and removing the negative accounts. This is what I've done so far on my Experian report: -Deleted an old address (negatives are tied to this address) -Ordered paper copy -Disputed negative accounts as "not mine" ... thought this might work since the address identifier on these accounts doesn't match the one address I have on my report. My disputes came back "verified that these items belong to you." Any thoughts or suggestions as to what I can do next?
  6. I entered into a 24 month payment plan with a collection agency for a debt with PayPal credit (Simm Associates is the assigned agency). It has been exactly 12 months now and I was wondering what my chances for success were for sending a letter to the agency saying "50% of this has been paid, let's call it even and settled"?
  7. A co-worker and I were discussing credit today. He mentioned getting a collection notice from Midland and I told him about what I had I read about them on here. He joked about paying them off with a credit card, waiting until they sent a "paid in full/closed account" letter, and then disputing the charge on his credit card. So that got me thinking and wondering if anyone had done that before, especially to Midland?
  8. Should I send an intent to sue letter to the original creditor about this?
  9. It was actually the OC that filed the lawsuit against me, not a JDB, and they're still reporting the balance.
  10. My settlement agreement did in fact say paid in full. What would be the best method for disputing in order to get it completed deleted from my reports?
  11. So as an update to this, I settled the account, payment was received, and the lawsuit was dismissed about 2 weeks ago. I checked my credit report this morning and the original account that was charged off is still showing a balance. The balance shown is the original amount minus the settlement amount, which is about $400.xx or so. If the account was settled, why are they still showing a balance?
  12. I sent a settlement offer to RVO Law via certified mail and it has been waiting for pickup for several days now. I received a letter from a local bankruptcy attorney and it stated that "court records indicate a lawsuit has been filed against you regarding this debt." I haven't been served any papers. What should I do?
  13. So I sent this "RVO Law" collection firm a debt verification letter and they responded with a copy of a credit card statement. What should be my next course of action? I actually contacted the original creditor and the collection firm they gave me the name & contact number of that is supposedly handling my account is different than the one that sent me the original letter. How can that be?
  14. Pardon my ignorance, but how can you tell that it's not a legitimate law firm but just a junk debt buyer?
  15. I received a letter from a collection agency/lawfirm, "RVO Law" based out of Michigan, for a credit card account that was charged off in December 2015 for the amount of $2328. On my credit reports the CA is not reporting and the credit card account reports as "charged off" and has the correct balance listed. The letter from RVO Law states that any payments must be made to them and not the original creditor. This is the first time I've ever had to deal with a collection agency and would like some advice on how to handle this situation in order to avoid any lawsuits.
