Maximum disappointment with Chase Freedom Change

They are eliminating 3% rewards except on certain categories on what looks like a quarterly basis.

 

What was a great card just became pretty mediocre.

 

I guess we will be looking at the rewards card from Lake Michigan Credit Union.

Consider paying a $30 AF (fee waived for the first year, though) for the upgrade to Freedom Plus. Easily worth it. Many people make up the AF in one month.

Consider paying a $30 AF (fee waived for the first year, though) for the upgrade to Freedom Plus. Easily worth it. Many people make up the AF in one month.

 

I love my plus card, I hope they don't change it or do away with the $50

bonus for $200. I have been waiting 9 days for my rewards to update so

I can get my next $250 check. That will be $500 in rewards in 9 months.

A no brainer for me on the $30 AF.

I also believe that Chase Exclusives Freedom cardholders are not affected either, for the time being.

New Freedom cards have had those 3% rewards as 6 months teaser already for a while. You have been able to see that in the ads for months. After 6 months, it converts to a plain 1% card.

It's my guess that the $250 cash rebate for $200 in earned rewards is going away for everybody.
