I do home painting, mostly repaints and specialty finishes/glazes, etc. On occasion we stain cabinets, furniture stripping/repairing, minor wall/wood repair, etc. Fun stuff like that. Been doing it for 11 years...just started my own gig a couple years ago....just incorporated last month!

I am going to a pro school soon (starting next month) to learn the more detailed stuff though, marblizing, faux stone, ect. I can't wait!!!!!!!

This is what I look like most days. LOL :

What do I do??? My company services foreclosed real estate. It is our job to go out to foreclosed properties after the auction and change the locks, board up broken windows, remove personal belongings, repair damage, paint and "gussy" up the places to get them ready for resale. Then, we maintain them as they sit....lawns in summer.....winterizing in winter. We service 8 counties in SC. I have 5 employees working in 2 crews of 2 and a single lawn guy in summers. I do the biz building, talking to Fannie Mae, realtors, etc. I do the scheduling, the mapping, the invoicing, and the cracking of the whip. Becuase I see sooooo many properties (average 3 new ones a day).....I invest in the good deals. I have somewhere around 20 rentals (I can't keep track) that I also have to maintain. My rentals don't make a profit right now, but I consider them my retirement account. In 15 years...they'll be sweet! So......that's what I do (when I'm not playing on the credit boards).

Well my husband is a carpenter, we do rehabs, remodeling, add ons, painting, repairs, you name it he can do just about anything. Kinda sad because he left a job at Wal-Mart where he worked for almost 15 years to work for his brother suppossedly making more money and we got here and after several months his brother fired him for something he didn't even do so we started our own business so we could make it.

He loves it, now he has himself, his father(whom his brother also got rid of) and me and the kiddos go help him when we can. I am a mean painter :)

http://www.DVDPhotographs.com is my company

We create video slide shows or photo montages for weddings, birthday's and other events. People submit their pictures and video clips to us and we combine them with music and create a DVD. We also do video to DVD conversion and other video editing.

Looking forward to learning alot from this forum.

Funny that you posted the video relay link, BIZCREDIT, bec thats what I do. I am a video relay interpreter so I have a pretty good contract with a huge Media company. I also have a contract (federal ADA compliance) with the Courts here(legal interpreting). Its interesting to read what everyones business is about!

Insurance broker/agent - getting back on track with it, I've done it off and on for years from a home office. This is sole prop. It was pretty muchsidelined while I worked fulltime for the lizards at Geico.

I had started purchasing rental property late last year, so a beginner at that. Gonna be a real estate mogul, hehe.

A partner and I are also in the process starting a property management company for smaller investors, who are tired of the tenants running their lives. She has extensive experience in property management.

The real estate related businesses are incorporated - that's what I purchased the seasoned corp for, since no one seems to want to loan money once you say "real estate."

Suzy, you're completely insane!! :( You leave my little painter man and his stir stick alone! LOL

Ya know, this IS great networking. Too bad we're spread all over the country. If we were all closer, I could definitely see the construction people hooking up with the real estate people.

And Kelly, move a little further north. I could use a mean painter!!!

I'm hiring if anyone happens to know a kickass painter in Tulsa.

:)

Well I have been known to venture into Oklahoma since that is where I was born. I went to school in Shawnee and have been to Tulsa many a times. Have tons and tons of friends there. Maybe I could send the hubby that way, he just needs an excuse to use the new paint sprayer he got

Anyways, I have a cousin in Muskogee also. Was gonna try and get there to see her but I believe she is moving soon so no chance of that. I am still gonna get up that way sometime.

I am still tryin to build DH's business and I have soooo many ideas. I get a lot from these boards and others. Anyways, I won't ramble on. hehe
