WOW!!!! For me, this is the best reason to buy a "shelf" corporation.

how did you find the "shelf" corporation is it usually costly andhow long of a process is it to obtain one or yours personally if you don't mind me asking.

thanks

I did consider an out of state shelf corp, but in Calif foreign corporations have to pay additional fees so I decided against it. My corporation is brand new. There are a couple of thread on shelf corps in this business forum. I believe Breeze has a good resource.

Detrow,

I hear you! We've been plugging along with our business over the years and never could find one good shred of really how to run the business while developing business credit. That's one of the reasons why our business never really bloomed -- we had to access all of our cash without CLs. Business credit seems like such a close guarded secret. Sorry to say, most of our friends (who run businessses) don't know this info either and are using PGs and personal credit; the ones that do know about business credit aren't eager to share it (now that we know HOW they are doing it [we just thought they had some awesome capital to work with]). Now that we know what to do, I can't keep pace with my impatience. We're incorporating in the next few weeks and DH keeps saying, slow down, "enjoy the process". That's hard to do because I'm so excited about the whole thing!

Rose, I'm in Cali too, did you just decide to inc. in Cali instead of out-of-state?

That's the same thing they told me. What's going on with that?

Congrats to you. I am working on the DW's business in converting it from a sole proprietorship to inc. or LLC status. I would love to get info from you on your CompUSA approval, as this would definitely help our ship supply business.

Jennifer and G,

DnB are a bunch of liars. You don't have to pay for a paydex. I have 4 lines reporting as of late, and I haven't paid a dime. They make a huge comission for selling their "services", so don't be fooled.

Did you get an immediate approval at the store or did you have to mail/fax the application? If so, how long did it take before you heard of the approval?
