AS I mentioned in the other thread...

I just opened a business checking acct with PNC that was painless and they do not check your personal credit nor cheksystems. If you apply for a business line of credit the "Business Banker" can push it through with no PG .. according to the FSR. I am still waiting for the Business Banker to contact me to appy.

That's great news about PNC Bank.

As I mentioned in a related post, always keep backup accounts for your business. Never put all your operating funds in one place.

Banks are fickle these days, and often run periodic Chex reports - or get updated lists from Chexsystems. If you have negative information in Chex, you may be subject to an account closure or lock out.

Always keep backup savings and checking accounts.

They deft wanted a pg and personal credit check with their line of credit when we opened one up 12/05 for our corp. I would be really curious to find out if the "business banker" is able to do it without a PG now. PNC seems rather conservative compared to the other banks we do business with.

Good luck w/ PNC but you are making a point that we all need to keep in mind (as Tess points out). Banks and other financial institutions are dynamic, moving targets. Their corp goals change with the wind, today you are "in", tomorrow "OUT".

I have a PNC biz checking and $50K LOC. They are very nice to deal with and quick with the approval. They pulled EX for me too!

I emailed them and got this response.

Dear Mr. Byrne,

Thank you for your message. For business account inquiries, I will need to

ask you to call our business banking team at 1-877-287-2654. They will be

able to assist you more appropriately. If you have any other questions feel

free to e-mail me back and I will be happy to help you.

Sincerely,

Christian Harris

WilliamByrne,

I filled out the online app and a gentleman called me 2 days afterward, asked some basic questions about what my business was about, and finalized the approval. Waived the annual fee because it took them longer than 48 hours to respond. I signed closing docs at a branch 20 miles from home. I got the red carpet treatment. I keep a friendly dialog with the branch associates when I drop by to make my payment.

Appreciate the update, SCC. I am in GA and the closest PNC is in FL (Vero Beach). Good news for me is that I am moving close by there. :aggressive:

Just to be clear, they pulled EX Biz on you, SCC?

I applied for and have the LOC and biz checking here in Pa. App done through website, and approval was over the phone dealing with reps that had to ask me where the closest branch was so I could sign the closing docs there. That means that, at least through the web app, you will probably have the same credit report pulled regardless where are, if they lend in that area. I repeat that the credit report that was pulled was NOT Experian business report, to my knowledge, but Experian personal, because for cash lending, banks seem to primarily rely on the personal guarantee of the authorized officer who will be held responsible for the company debt personally. I can't get why so many people optimistically hope that all banks will do what Citi does for biz credit cards by pulling only business credit, because EVERY ONE of the other LOCS and credit cards, other than Citi and Sams biz Discover, pulled personal credit for approval.

WilliamByrne,

I was expecting someone to eventually think I was fibbling, like I have some kind of ego that needs the massaging of someone typing words on a computer screen, complimenting me about credit I don't have. Sorry if you think I'm lying but I have no way, without disclosing who I am, to prove that I have all the credit I have, any more than any of the storytellers on this board do, without proving it by disclosing who they are. Listen to my stories, learn from the student, or tell me to leave the class, and I will. This board is where I learned what has saved my business from forclosure, and me from humilation and poverty. I didn't, and still don't, think it is, or was, right of me to take experience and give experience back. If you want me to never post again, just say it and I'll go back to just reading. Posting on this board takes valuable time that I can spend doing something that makes more income. The simple fact is that I have been in business for over 25 years, and the main business is 85 years old, and I haven't been profitable ever. I've had to beg, borrow, steal, kiss butt, and sell stuff at tremendous losses to survive in the area I'm in, but I am a hard and determined worker and entreprenuer. I've dealt with litterally thousands of people over the years. I've been sued, threatened, property vandalized and/or stolen, ridiculed, mocked, criticized, you name it, so I don't feel lucky. Yet, I tend to believe that the aquisition of this much credit in a short time, when I desperately needed it, is nothing short of a miracle for me, not just "lucky" as you put it. I don't pray nearly enough and take too much credit for who and where I am. As far as CB'ers disagreeing with me, people agree to disagree. What works for some won't work for others. That's what CB'ers call "YMMV"!

To summarize, now that I've vented, I do have every account I claim to have, including a PNC LOC with a $50K limit and $48,567.70 balance. My payment is interest only due of $252.43. Believe me or not, it doesn't matter. All that matters to me is making my payments and staying in business another day, and another day, and another day after that.

Do you want me to shut up for good?

And I really am SUPER CREDIT MAN!

I never used the word lucky, MOF I have made no comments on your success, or lack of it, at all. If you believe your story is extremely unique, send it to Hollywood. Mine kicks your in the a$$ ten x over.

As on all boards, there are the liars, the exagerrators, the morons and the knowsomes. It takes time to ferret out the real players from the hogwash. That's what I am doing, if this offends, sorry, but not a great deal of sorow in all honesty.

Good luck,

WB
