Information from NADA Title & Registration Textbook 2004

Kansas Lemon Law

If a motor vehicle does not conform to all applicable warranties and the consumer reports the nonconformity during the term of any warranties or during the period of one year following the date of original delivery, whichever is the earlier date, the manufacturer, its agent, or its authorized dealer shall make such repairs as are necessary to conform the vehicle. If unable to conform the vehicle after a reasonable number of attempts, the manufacturer shall replace the vehicle or accept return and refund the consumer (less a reasonable allowance for use). It shall be presumed that a reasonable number of repair attempts have been undertaken if the same nonconformity has been subject to repair four or more times and the nonconformity continues to exist, or there have been 10 or more repair attempts for any number of substantial defects, or the vehicle is out of service for repair for a cumulative total of 30 or more calendar days within the term of any warranty or during the period of one year following the original delivery, whichever is the earlier date. For additional information please contact the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General at 120 S.W. 10th Ave., 2nd floor, Topeka, KS 66612
