I am going to give the whychat method a go.  Credit Collections will not budge with me.  It's a collection from 10/2015 and I have confirmed with the OC that I do have an account and they won't pull it back from the CA.

It's only showing on Equifax and I disputed.  It is verified.  Where should I send the HIPAA letter to as I believe they use a 3rd party company for HIPAA compliance.  Also if I get a b

Steps so far...

1. opted out

2. verified via dispute that it's mine and i called the OC who won't pull back

3. have letter ready to go just need to know should I address it to HIPPA Compliance Office or Billing dept?

Thanks in advance

Are you following the guides?

http://www.whychat.5.../GUIDEBOOK.html

http://www.whychat.5...AA PROGRAM.html

How did you dispute with Eq.?? did you use this:?

http://whychat.5u.com/hipaadisp.html

Getting a "verified" from Eq is NOT proof that the reporting CA is in a CURRENT business relationship with the OC

Did you receive anything from the CA as a result of your dispute??

If not, you need to send the reporting CA this:

http://whychat.5u.co...cavalhipaa.html

What exactly are you planning on sending to the OC?? Payment?? If it is only reporting to Eq it is VERY doubtful that it is a valid collection.

Were you insured?? If so, do you have your EOB ( explanation of benefits) from your insurance Co.??

whychat:  thanks so much for your quick response to my post.  It's very much appreciated.

Are you following the guides? Yes but skipped the dispute part because I had already disputed with Equifax and they verified.  I also called the hospital and they are refusing to pull the account back so I can pay them.

Getting a "verified" from Eq is NOT proof that the reporting CA is in a CURRENT business relationship with the OC

Did you receive anything from the CA as a result of your dispute?? NO but I did receive a letter from them on 8/23/16 for $50 which is probably a co-pay we didn't pay at the emergency room

If not, you need to send the reporting CA this:

What exactly are you planning on sending to the OC?? Payment?? If it is only reporting to Eq it is VERY doubtful that it is a valid collection. - I was going to send them the HIPAA letter with insert (a) as they have my account still with them

Were you insured?? If so, do you have your EOB ( explanation of benefits) from your insurance Co.?? Yes I'm insured and this is a co-pay that slipped thru the cracks.

You can go ahead and pay the OC with the HIPAA letter insert "a" but it will not get the account deleted as it is VERY unlikely it is being reported by a CA who is in a current business relationship with the OC.

If your dispute with Eq was an on line dispute it was NOT properly disputed, HOWEVER, for the sake of speeding up the process, send the medical DV to the reporting CA:

http://whychat.5u.co...cavalhipaa.html

and send the follow up dispute to Eq:

http://whychat.5u.co...aa.html#DISPUTE

sorry for the delay.  I have been busy with work and the holidays.

Today I sent (priority mail with proof of delivery) off the dispute letter to equifax for 4 collection accounts that are showing.

I also sent 4 separate medical DV (priority mail with proof of delivery) to the CA's.

Thanks for the assistance :)

So all 4 have been delivered with one stating 'Notice Left (No Secure Location Available)' and it will be returned to me 3/3 if it hasn't been picked up.

If it is returned from the CA you will need to amend your follow up dispute to the CRA to include the fact that the address they provided is invalid.

Will do...still haven't received anything from the CA.  I did receive an email from EQ that they were investigating (the hand written letter with blue pen).
