Update: They do run Early Warning Systems (EWS). You may get the green light in the branch, but the risk department will then close shortly thereafter.

Just referred someone who was experiencing fraud and poor response/customer service at BOA. They were happy about the Cap One - only to have it close two days later.

Renasant Bank www.renasantbank.com is one of MCA's darlings for GA... they do not run anything the last I checked.  For those who use bankruptcy to clear their Chex report, but may be on EWS, Consumers Credit Union only does Chexsystems.. Credit Union of Atlanta only runs Chexsystems.

Yes, she is greatly missed. However, a lot has changed since she first started the list around 14 years ago.

1.  There are more second-chance banks and credit unions out there. Her state lists have changed a lot.

2.  Internet-only banks (like Chime Bank) are available.

3.  Tons of sites have popped up offering Chexsystems solutions. (Many copied her original information and added to it)

4.  Her original list has morphed, as banks have merged or changed their policies.

5.  Electronic (E-Check) banking is the standard.

6.  We know a lot more about Chexsystems, Telecheck, and Certegy, and how to deal with them.

7.  Speciality CRAs must provide free annual reports.

8.  Complaint sites are more prevalent and provide info on individual bank or credit union issues.

The forum here on CB provides a great alternative. You can ask about a particular financial institution (or state) and get actual feedback from someone who banks there.
