So I'm in the market for a new CU, preferably non Experian puller and one that on the generous side. I currently have alliant, dcu, psecu, navy, sdfcu, penfed(member, no credit yet). Tried justice fcu but apparently NSA is just a con now cuz me and others got denied for inq. I had 2 so go figure. Any suggestions? much appreciated

But Andrews pulled Experian for me, and denied me for their Visa.

Seriously? What was their denial reason?

Pyramiding Credit

 ok, I'll put them on my list to avoid...

Probably were referring to Chex inqs.

Apple is a semi-popular one here, maybe US Postal or FedChoice. I also like GTE :good:

They referred in the denial letter to many inquiries and listed EQUIFAX as the credit bureau. Not they would tell the truth but just saying. I will look into these CUs thanks

With JFCU, I think we can take it as a given that they weren't.

They denied me a savings account for "too many inquiries" twice, and cited EQ as the credit bureau both times. The first time I had 2, the second time I had 0.

They also pulled CHEX (where I had no recent inquiries), but cited EQ and refused to divulge further information. They did not pull ARS.

To the best of my knowledge, my only derogatory was being a member of NSA.

JFCU is cracking down - I had two also the first time (including their inquiry) so 1 when they pulled, denied too many inqs. 2nd time none when they pulled, they even went as far as to note the difference in application with the second denial (meaning they could tell I did something lol). The 2nd time I was actually in the office - and the rep even said "wow" when he pulled chex, I had 6 spread out over the last few years....so that is why I say Chex, that and they do not want NSA anymore. Someone recently got in with the Correction Officer Association listed on their site - but I would say they will refer to old apps and notate differences and deny again (1st time trying to join with NSA vs. Trying later with Correction Officers).

I heard about Golden1, and there was a rant a few months ago about how they were becoming problematic...dunno much about them.

GTE is EQ

FedChoice is TU

US Postal is EQ

That is just weird. Opening deposit accounts - as opposed to, say, stuffing your cash under the mattress or living paycheck to paycheck - is now considered a risk factor.

I wonder what they're smoking over there.
