2021CR Posted June 2 Posted June 2 MCM wording on a letter referring to an At Home account from Synchrony that no longer appears on the CR. The letter from Midland Credit Management says " This letter is to inform you that the above referenced account was sold to Midland Credit Management, Inc. on 02/17/2026. If you have any questions about this account please contact. My question is is the wording SOLD to my advantage..they never said they owned the account or that it was their account and that I owe them. Does this give me leverage on getting them off the back of the person who received this, and what is the way to do that with this type of account letter? Thank you! Quote

Why do you believe the verbiage gives you any manner of 'leverage?' It clearly indicates that they acquired the matter via purchase. Reporting on any of the four major bureaus has absolutely nothing to do with collectability of a purchased debt. Remember also that you have no standing to communicate with the entity (because it isn't your account) and they have no obligation to communicate with you. hegemony 1 Quote

Leverage meaning they admit they bought the debt, not hired by the OC to collect it. Have things changed in the past decade since I fixed my own credit with the JDB? They used to be useless and one letter they would go away! Quote
