ShawnPY1972 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) I woke up this morning to an alert to a collection account reporting to my Experian credit file with IC Systems Inc. I tried calling their company this morning to find out what the hell this was about and they wanted my credit card number to charge me $1.00 to initiate a dispute on my behalf. I told the person that I was not dumb (I used other words) and that was not happening. I hung up and used Chat GBT to locate all sorts of information about their company and who owns it. I also found the owners email address. I contacted him with my complaint explaining to him that this account stems from a 2015 identity theft and that his company is reporting an obsolete fraudulent account. I then proceeded to file a complaint with the Minnesota Department of Commerce who regulates collection agencies in Minnesota and the Minnesota State Attorney Generals Office for their reporting an outdated fraudulent account as well as their abuse of power in requiring my credit card number to initiate a dispute. I wonder how many people fall for this? I bet a lot of seniors don't know better. I filed a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau on Experian providing them with all the relevant information along with a police report from 2016. I thought all this had been handled back then. Thank god I still kept everything. I bombarded John Erickson, President and CEO of IC Systems with 30 faxes of ten pages each with my complaint and proper documentation. (that's 300 pages on his fax machine) 🙂 I think I will get his attention! For anyone who is having problems with IC Systems the CEO's email address is jerickson@icsystem.com I am also filing a civil lawsuit in the amount of $4,000 in damages. That's the maximum amount I can get under Minnesota law. I felt attacking this matter with the collection agency and the original creditor and lighting a fire under Experian with the CFPB would get me the fastest results. I used Chat GBT to help me write all my complaints with all the proper language. That software did an amazing job for me. Once it had the facts all I had to say was write me a complaint to the Minnesota Department of Commerce or Experian and it immediately drafted the appropriate letters. The software is awesome and it's free! Edited March 17 by ShawnPY1972 8ball 1 Quote
Flyingifr Posted March 17 Posted March 17 The fact that IC Systems managed to get an 11 year old debt onto your credit file is pretty good evidence that they re-aged it, which is a FCRA violation and deliberately misrepresented the legal nature of the debt which is a FDCPA violation. When do they get the two summonses? Quote

Update: I got an email with a letter attached to it this morning apologizing for the situation and for the copy of an Oscar report indicating that they made the request to delete the account.
