hdporter Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Citi AA Globe. 90k Aadvantage mile SUB ($5k spend). $299 AF. Instant approval. $26.5k CL. Proactive application. Existing Barclays AA Aviator Silver card to be transferred to Citi (no SUB). AA Globe is the closest card on par. Surprised by the instant approval; a CLI req on my Citi Double Cash in Nov was declined due to too many recent inquiries. So the line is tailor made. It's a relief that they didn't nickel and dime me out the starting gate (like some issuers have), leaving me to beg for CLI installments over a year +, in order to achieve a workable limit. Still not sure why Citi keeps dicking over my CLI requests on my Double Cash. CL has been at $15k for 5 years with a decline at every request. I charge $100-$400 every month. That's ok; a decent AA CL is more useful at the moment. TheVig 1 Quote

Had it been a HP, I would have gotten a dozen or so alerts. I do know first time applicants do get hard pulls. Who they pull is YMMV. It could be from any of the big 3. Cardless is the servicer, but Column is the new bank. From what I can gather, Column doesn't want to see any derogatories, high utilizations, or a ton of inquiries. They do seem to over look inquiries, if you have a clean, well seasoned credit report. ShawnPY1972 1 Quote

They don't like me because of some stuff that happened ~8 years ago, but even so, it took forever to get an initial CLI on my Costco Visa (opened ~2.5 years ago) I started at $500 and while they've been doubling my CL every 6 months when I request, it's still only at $4k. Same exact thing with a Double Cash which I apped for more recently when my credit scores were much better, nope, $500 starting, currently $4k. Both will be eligible for another one in May... So, while they don't lock you out, they definitely have a long memory. As all my other cards are >$10k and many >$20k, and I am getting the impression that I'm topped out with many of the issuers, I probably won't have a lot to post here this year other than hopefully Citi, unless I decide to open another account. I saw a story on the internet that the editor of that blog complained because he applied for the card and was upset that he got a hard inquiry and only received a $25,000 credit line. He was upset because his Wells Fargo card had a $50,000 credit line. Lol. I'd be happy with 25,000. 😁 Quote
supern8ural Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Figured I'd try Discover again today with a little more hope than usual now that they've migrated to Capital One, but I'll apparently receive a decision in a couple days which I assume means that I'm stuck at the same $10k limit that I've been at for over a year... ShawnPY1972 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) I got the PayPal World MasterCard with a $10,000 limit. This an accident! To be honest I thought that they were going to give me an option if I wanted to accept the approval but they didn't. They just set up the account. I wanted to see how much I was approved for. I didn't intend to accept ANY offer at this point, but at least it was a good size limit. Edited February 1 by ShawnPY1972 Kat58 1 Quote

"Your request can’t be processed at this time due to account migration" Well, since Cap1 seems to like me maybe next month? my Savor got to $24k before I stopped asking. Quote
