MP80 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 802 ( -8) I was surprised to find that my FICO 4 credit score had dropped by 8 points because the number of reported accounts increased from 3 to 4, with a balance of $58. Even more perplexing, JPMorgan Chase failed to update the account balance to zero after I paid off the debt. This was according to the Equifax report; the other two credit bureaus, Experian and TransUnion, had already updated the balance to zero. It's so strange! Quote

hdporter Posted January 5 Posted January 5 756 -> 745 Puzzling because my FICO 8's have notched up approx 20 pts in the last month (to 820-830) as my revolving balances have declined. One possible explanation: We've been drawing heavily against a HELOC to fund renovations of our new home prior to our spring move. The line is now at about 85% utilization. May be more an issue in FICO 4 scoring. Quote
