Had a link through VSIN during the week for a bank that actually gives rewards for sports betting and other gaming transactions, including funding accounts AND does not treat chip purchases as a cash advance.

G-Bank appears to be a Vegas gaming fintech also known as Bank of George (not to be confused with a long-absent former member here).

2% on regular purchases and 1% on gaming is what it looks like, making it very meh BUT with the benefit for those who do the gaming thing AND don't revolve balances.

I've not gone through the full app process, but they do want a copy of the DL for satisfaction of KYC rules. Experian pull even before the ID stuff. I cannot speak to limits or whether it will be a hidden line.

I know we have some other Vegas and gaming regulars on here plus some locals that may have some insight.

Yeah, I know...I'm being a bad influence again LOL!

Just what the world needs - a credit card (that probably charges about 30% APR interest but pays you back 1%) that can be used to finance gambling losses - imagine - you owe 30% APR interest on money you gambled away and lost.

And I thought hitting yourself on the head with a hammer was dumb...

You're gonna dis a card posted by another member who suggested it may have some utility among the gaming community, over it's APR?

I know you're intelligent enough to know that the card was suggested not as a means to "finance gambling losses" but instead as an alternate means by which to tap existing funds on deposit for gaming activity; something that is not particularly flexibly facilitated under other options in place.

Just seems like your blinders are rather tightly fixed to your face today.

(I'm in Tahoe today, still hoping to latch onto a flexible funding mechanism that doesn't still prompt me to ferry a boatload of cash ...)

I guess you overlook that SOME of us don't revolve balances.

One pays not a penny of interest on a balance not revolved.

And, for some of the casino/gaming inclined amongst us, this is additional rewards on top of profits we already see on a regular basis.

For me, as an example, this gets me 1% more than I would get by taking a marker and saves me from TSA scrutiny for carrying large sums of cash, even domestically.

Centex, thank you for discovering and introducing a new product that can be useful to some of us part-time gamblers, hehehe...We gamers need a credit card like this!

I was planning on unfreezing my credit report to apply because I’m an amateur gamer who likes to use my credit card as a backup, but something stopped me from going ahead and launching the application. It was the word “fintech” that held me back. I’ve had bad trips and disasters with neobanks that started up and built a lot of hype to boost their reputation for a short period, only to collapse just as quickly.

I have yet to see a successful fintech company thrive; unfortunately, most, if not all, have been defunct or acquired like the X1.

I am one of those who don't revolve balances, but to those who do.....

Please remember - this board is primarily populated by people seeking help with credit PROBLEMS. Showing them where and how they can create 1 more credit problem is hardly likely to help solve their issues,

To be fair the great majority of individuals who frequent casinos don’t have a gambling problem and this is the target audience for this card.

The same can be said for a Target or Walmart card. Are there shopaholics who will be irresponsible? Of course however these cards are intended for the overwhelmingly prudent customers.

I'll paraphrase:  This board is primarily populated by people seeking credit SOLUTIONS.

As far as those with credit problems. This group isn't a form of Credit Abusers Anomymous.  It does hold out possible options/remedies to those who might grapple with credit problems, but directly mentoring them in their struggles is not a defined mission of this group.

Bottom line, any credit-related resource that might prove to be an asset, benefit, opportunity, or of utility to other members is fair game for discussion (ever mindful that "one person's medicine may prove another's poison) ;)

No, this board has a spectrum, ranging from those in waaaaay over their heads to well-established credit wh0res. There has historically been an array of sites out there related to credit, including those that advocated frivolous litigation and ranging to those that primarily catered to HNW individuals who take offense to anything under a $20K limit.

If ANYONE reads my original post in this thread, they will see where I point out plusses and minuses to this one as well as soliciting input from Vegas locals that have tremendous financial industry knowledge.

Quite honestly, anyone who takes on ANY new credit without reading the terms that they attested to having read deserves whatever happens if they get in over their head. But APR means nothing to those who don't revolve balances unless there is a 0% teaser offer.  THIS card has the potential to help those of us who don't like the TSA hassles that come with carrying large sums of cash and who like the idea of getting rewards on spend that would otherwise be via marker or, worse, would be treated as a cash advance (such as loading funds to legal online sportsbooks)and where interest starts accumulating as soon as the transaction posted.
