Maybe a silly question. What if I freeze a bureau right before I apply for one of those $50 guaranteed acceptance and get declined for that reason would I get the $50?

I doubt you would get the SUB.  When I try to pull credit and the consumer has their file frozen, I get a message that states: "File is frozen due to federal legislation."

 

You should receive an adverse action notice were you to be declined.

In such a case, is your app declined, or do they state that they're unable to evaluate your application without bureau access? (not the same)

Makes sense but CK does “guarantee” you will be approved by applying without any mention of credit bureau access or $50. Again I completely understand where you’re coming from but  unable to access a file is in effect a denial.

You.may be right.  But I expect CK to be smart enough not to lay themselves open to a ploy of, "Ha!  Locked my file!  Gimme that $50!"
