NAC
My mortgage incorrectly added half my payment to principal. Then my mortgage was sold the next month and old servicer still recorded payment as late. Once we got it settled on new servicers side they advised old servicer would have to remove negative. I can’t access my account now to see conversation traffic but it was never removed. I’m selling my home now and need new purchase approval. What’s the quickest and easiest way to get this addressed? Admin MarvBear Posted November 10, 2023 Admin Share Posted November 10, 2023 Provided you can prove via documents, perhaps your new mortgage broker could do a rapid rescore.

liverichly
You'll need to reach out to your previous mortgage servicer and ask them to provide you a letter stating the payment was made on time. Once you have that you can ask your new loan officer if they'll do a rapid rescore, otherwise you should press your previous mortgage servicer to update their reporting with the credit bureaus ASAP (don't accept the standard "within 30 days" answer). Found out the issue was that we had an escrow shortage. No letters received, no phone calls ever to tell us to pay up and that it was late- nothing! So it was short all of $120. They won’t make a goodwill adjustment. Our lender has never seen this happen, especially such a low amount and not reversing a report for goodwill. Out payment was on autopay so the regular payment was made. hegemony
