PS2020
Chase charged off my account 2 accounts YEARS ago, as a matter of fact I think this year I'm supposed to be hitting the 7 year statute of limitations, but I started getting a bunch of emails the past day or two from my old chase account and some of my other credit monitoring things and apparently JP Morgan is reporting my accounts as being charged off... again? Is that even legal? Has this happened to anyone else?

As far as I know it was sold, i got letters from all different agencies about it for years. Is there a way I can check the difference? Although I'm inclined to assert that a charge off is an "event", some creditors report it as a status (i.e. the account has been previously charged off) and report the notation each and every month subsequent to initial charge off. Bottom line, anything is possible in your case. The biggest "tell" as to whether Chase still owns the account or if it has been sold to a CA is whether the debt reports with it's final balance outstanding (account still owned by creditor) or shows a "0" balance (debt sold to a CA).
